The lag is already bad enough as is in cyrodil and there is not a lot of people inside of it you are literally fighting the same person over and over again it’s weak

I assume i'd be down to microsoft/sony for that. Though other games do.

I think it would be a good idea though. Since console players are split into 4 different severs, and MMOs generally aren't a massive thing on console, it'll help the population.

My other half bought me an Xbox a couple of years ago in the hope of playing together (I'm on PS4) but alas we shall never speak of it again so I'm all for this

Sony doesn't allow cross platform with Xbox (MS has said they are fine with it).

Microsoft has reached out to Sony several times in the past (most recently for Rocket League and Fortnite) to allow cross-platform play, but Sony has always shot down the idea.

It's not that Sony shoot down the idea

We all know of those people on Xbox threatening to make my mother feel like a teenage girl again by doing unmentionable things to her that I'm sure at her age would be a welcomed thing from such a sticky young man however that being said I don't feel I need to know about the fetishes of an 18 year old man and my 64 yr old mother.

Don't want to help keep it that way and until they find a way to not only allow the game play but to be able to have a fully functional blocking and reporting capabilities sony will remain against it

Both consoles do that. Console players tend to have the younger playerbase. I'd be more worried about consoles ever being crossplay with pc as I'd rather not inherit the problems that come with that.

Yep. This is the only reason. If MS came out with this idea last gen (when sales between PS3 and 360 were almost the same), it's very likely they would have been fine with it. Right now, they are trying to choke out the X1, and cross-platform doesn't support that goal.

The population is fine, I don't need all my campaigns suddenly having 500+ queue waits cause a flood of Playstation users came in. Besides having even MOAR players in an instance only makes the lag worse.

No. As a ps4 player it does appear that there are more frequent problems with Xbox and whilst it may not necessarily be the case I don't want to risk acquiring those problems.

I think next gen we’ll get there. Hardware comparability (AMD) was only introduced this gen and next gen it will be far more about software—with publishers even less likely to favor one platform over another.

Indeed, because Microsoft did it to them when Xbox was leading in market share. The article someone else linked above that is blaming Sony said as much later in the article.

Almost 20 years of playing on the ps4 and never experienced it ... 6 days on Xbox and it was so bad I sold it after 3 months

PC isn't my go to gaming experience I like couch play too much

Except fortnite flipped a switch on accident and those two were playing together for a couple days before they said "our bad" and flipped the switch again.

Remember, ff11 allowed xbox, playstation, and pc to all play together and it was amazing.

Soooooooo it comes down to greed. More money in keeping people divided vs letting us all play together

Yeah I would hate to play against PC cheat engine cheaters.
Most of my friends on PS4 are over 40 in ESO, another PC user assumption.
