I pre-ordered the physical collectors' edition in my local Game store a while ago, and went in today to enquire whether it would be available on Monday for the "early access" (I put that in quotes because what it really means is that it's released on PC before console as usual  ).

Good news - it's already in stock and will be available any time on Monday  !

Hopefully others will find the same situation if they aim to pick up their hard copy on Monday!

Some would doubtless say that the miracle will be if what they told me today turns out to be the case on Monday - but to be honest, I've never had the slightest problem with my local Game store, they've always seemed friendly and efficient, and I'd give them more custom if only game developers released PC titles these days - and did so by offering hard copies (boxes with maps etc!) rather than digital downloads.

I find this interesting, Tandor. Could you confirm something for me? Was it the PC version or console version? Because a week or so after Summerset was announced I went into my local game store in Exeter, Devon and asked to pre order it on PC. Well, the attendant looked at me like I'd just got my knob out and said "The games not available PC". :|

So after having to prove via my phone and the internet that it was available on PC he then shrugged and said it I could only pre order it online. Which I then did. Thing is, I had a £220 gift card which I wanted to use in-store to get Summerset, as there's very little else out that interests me and I've had the gift card for over a year now, and you can't use them to pre order online.

Anyways, I rang their customer service after going in store, and once I managed to decipher the accent of the person speaking to me he just agreed with the in-store attendant. Even telling me they weren't selling it at first, resulting in me having to help him navigate his companies web site to find it! So I'd be very interested to know whether you were able to pre order the PC version in store.

    Thanks.

And the media is surprised that high street shops are closing and customers are more likely to shop online. What's the point of going into a store or contact a person when you have to go online in the end anyway.

I hope you'll manage to use your gift card one day.

I can confirm that it was the PC version I pre-ordered.

I suspect the reason for the confusion in your store may have been that it was listed according to my store as "Project Glacier" and not ESO or Summerset Isle. That's what appeared on my receipt which I obviously queried and they said it was correct and very likely to be a code name prior to the lifting of an embargo given that the announcement of the release versions had only been made a day or so before. I subsequently queried it direct with ZOS and they confirmed it.
