Is Flames of Oblivion considered direct damage or a dot?

Not sure if its direct damage every 5 seconds or they considered dots?

It's direct damage.

DoT is displayed in Orange in damage numbers. Flames of Oblivion is normal white numbers, which reapply every 5 seconds.

Searing Strike for example is DoT.
