Is ESO+ really worth it anymore? (HONEST QUESTION)

CorrosiveNatsu
So I would love some input. Just as the title says. Other than the craft bag(which is amazing) I don't see too much that makes me want it. DLC's are nice, but don't seem to offer too much in terms of the gameplay. 10% experience doesn't seem like a lot. And especially with the new chapters not coming with ESO+, is it actually viable to keep it.

Let me hear your thoughts!

The craft bag is the only reason I subscribe. So eso+ is worth it to me.

Craft Bag. Most of the other stuff becomes less worth it the more you play the game, but that Craft Bag stays useful.

So as long as you craft, farm, and actually use the craft bag, its worth it for that.

I agree with those above. The craft bag makes it 100% worth it for me, everything else is just gravy.

If you play long enough, it's cheaper to buy DLC than to be subscribed.

If you craft and or farm, craft bag is must. Additionally, research 10% time reduction, double bank space, and 10% more gold are useful to various degrees.

I don't know that 10% more experience is all the useful. Maybe save a day on alt grinding, gives a bit of boost in your CP earning I guess.

For those players who like cosmetics, it's needed to fully make use of housing and costume dyeing is a nice plus.

Finally, you'll need to make fewer trips, (and fewer swaps to your geode mule), to the transmute station with double crystal cap. A minor convenience, but still something.

The cost of ESO+ is approximately equivalent to buying a small crown pack at regular price every month (1,500 crowns), which is useful if you buy items from the crown store.

The DLC inclusion really isn’t a good reason to subscribe, since you can buy them for less. It’s really a question of whether the other benefits are useful to you.

Worth it to me . Especially with Summerset almost here . Dying costumes , Xp gains for leveling acts and new skill lines . Craft bag , double bank storage , more housing deco . I've ran subs on two accounts an feel it's worth it .

    Crafting bag
    Costume dying
    Double bank space
    Double housing items
Plus a small number of crowns every month. I think it's worth it.

ESO plus means i dont need to spend hours doing inventory management and deal with mules, that alone is worth $15. I can either spend 10-15 minutes of my time making $15 in real life and make inventory management easier, Or i can spend hours of what would be play time a week, doing inventory management. Hmmm. Not really a hard choice.

For me its worth it mainly for the crafting bag.

Costume dying and housing space, I would just subscribe a month for to get it done and that's it. Its the crafting bag that keeps me subscribed a lot of the time.

Craft bag - once you try it there is no way back  (if you are crafter). Costume dyeing and crowns do a nice bonus, but craftbag is soo convenient, it is worth the money.

i have recently cancelled mine, im cp 1000 so dont need more dam exp. and i have all my gear crafted already for summerset. ive got transmute crystals coming out my ears. and enough crap in my craft bag to keep me in writs for the next 6 months.

Personally i hate having to need a craft bag and i think it really should be the last thing ESO+ is paid for not the first.

Now if we ACTUALY got the DLCs included like we should have originally then it would be worth it... Not this Chapter cash grab stuff.

Craft bag and doubled bank space, as stated above, are essential. The 9k crowns you get when you subscribe for 6 months are also worth it for me.

The XP bonus could be at least 20% as in most games I played as 10% is not much. It's in terms of damage, but not XP.

I say it is worth it as means of sustaining the game and having them drop the absurd pricing on other items in the CS.

It’s a double edged sword. I want the crafting bag and storage, but hate the being grouped into dlc dungeons.
  • CorrosiveNatsu
Interesting. Thanks for the feedback guys.

Yeah, the craft bag is amazing, but as I said, for me it was one of the only things that drew me to ESO+. Through its bugs and sometimes stupid mechanics, ESO is a great game that I feel is getting to cash grabby.

Time to decide if I want to subscribe again for Summerset then haha

I don't think it's worth it for me.

I buy the DLC out-right, buy crown packs when I want them and I don't mind not having the crafting bag. I split materials between my bank, my crafters inventory and when necessary a mule (who is soon to be replaced by storage chests) and sell materials I have too many of or don't think I'll need.

Most of the other subscription benefits I don't care about, I have trouble even remembering what they are other than very small bonuses to things which I never notice when they are active and never miss when they're gone.

Oddly enough the one thing that does bother me is being unable to dye costumes. Dye stamps are useless to me because you can't choose the colours, so I can only dye costumes when I have ESO+ active. But that's ok because I don't want to change them often, I've gotten 2 30-day subs - once when they first introduced costume dyes and once when Morrowind came out because I had 2 new characters and several new costumes. Since then the free trials have let me tweak the dyes occasionally, which is enough for me.

The endless craft bag, the DLC, and the crown stipend each month are what is of value to me. However...the main reason that I subscribed to ESO Plus is because I believe in supporting a game that gives me many hours of pleasure. With more income, the company/creators have the stimulous to create more content. I feel that the $15 a month I willingly pay is worth the entertainment value I get back in return.

You get 1,500 crowns per month with your ESO+ subscription.

So if you are someone who purchases crowns, you can pay $15 to get 1,500 crowns, or you can pay $15 to get 1,500 crowns AND ESO+. The second choice is better if it applies to you.

You also get free crates during the free ESO+ events.

I also wonder if you get better or priority responses to support tickets if you are ESO+.

And craft bag is not to be underestimated.

And for some people who like this sort of thing, being ESO+ makes them feel elite, first class, special, etc.

I main reason I have ESO+ is to support the game.
    PC - NA - AD
    started April 2015
    PVE & Solo only

Meet the LOST family: CP 1250+
Easily Lost Crafter - lvl 50 - Sorcerer Orc ( knows all traits and most styles )
    Easily Lost-W - lvl 50 - Warden Imperial
Forever Lost - lvl 50 Sorcerer

CROWN CRATES: It doesn't affect gameplay, it's not mandatory, it's cosmetic only. If it helps to support the game and ZOS, I support it! Say YES to crown crates.

Thats another thing to think about as you're making the choice to ESO+ or not, is if the money is going to areas of the game you care about, and for me it isnt as i like to PVP.

Although we had BG's now they've gone back to none CP they're not appealing to me anymore.
So now im left with Cyrodill - an area thats been untouched and unloved since launch and performance of the area becoming infuriatingly atrocious. i cant justify that spend.

I would like to see my money going towards more player / guild interactions, pet skins, revamped login screen, pvp arena, activities, world events and most importantly performance improvements.

Or you can buy the larger crown packs, which work out cheaper per crown.

    A 1,500 crown pack is $14.99 - $0.99 per 100 crowns, a 30 day subscription is the same.
    A 5,500 crown pack is $39.99 - $0.72 per 100 crowns
    A 14,000 crown pack is $99.99 - $0.71 per 100 crowns

So if you're specifically looking at buying 1,500 crowns then yes it's better value to get a 30 day subscription. But if you want more crowns, either now or later on, you're better off buying the larger crown packs.

It's definitely worth it to me. I have one ESO+ account that is my main account, and I have one non-sub account that I made for spillover character concepts and experiments. When I play with the non-sub account I am constantly laughing about the things I am used to doing that I just can't--thieves' troves drive me INSANE when I can't get them!! So all the stuff that the DLC allows me to do plus the craft bag is aaaaaaaaaaaaaabsolutely worth it. In fact this game is the only thing in my life that I actually allow to auto-renew.

Thieves' Troves are really odd. Why would someone leave a trove of treasure for random passersby? And why would a thief do it, especially? They're just to tease people into getting the DLC, really.
