Is it just me or...

Is it just me or does anyone else have a hard time figuring out PvP through video or text? I am a hands on learner for most of what I do, but when I ask about getting help people talk to me of sets and potions and food (things that are easily learned through reading). I want to be able to know how to rotate and weave attacks better or just follow someone to give me pointers on how to burst players or gank (I am a stamblade, bite me). I hope I am not alone with this minor frustration.

I never watched any how-to video or read up on forum. When l went into PvP first time, it was hands-on, trial by fire. l just watched what others were doing and pick up on how to PvP as l went along. Well, since, with many moons have gone by, l came to conclude PvP is just a zergling game.

Find someone who knows what they're doing and have a duel-fest with them, but have neither player play to win.

Have them lay their burst into you while you try to survive. Test your own burst to see how well it combos.

Intentionally have long-ass fights to push your ablility to sustain. Play around with bar setups between fights.

Best way to find experienced players that are willing to help you is probably to find a pvp guild.

Find a good player that knows what to do and have them explain it then duel them and duel others, Thousands of duels. Duels themselves don't really prove much its just build v build but its a excellent place to learn how to keep your buffs up, animation cancel/weave, time your bursts, and just get a feel for your class/build.

If your playing in cyro join a small scale group, 2-4 players that have a similar playstyle and watch what they do. Whenever you get comfortable you can run around solo or pick people off from the zergs.

If you don't like Zerg-o-Dil do some Battlegrounds!

Best way to learn in pvp is to just jump right into it and pvp outside of zergs, I don't think new players really learn much about pvp from sitting in the zerg and spamming their bow light attacks, they are really just doing themselves a disservice.

The easiest way to learn is to group with someone who knows what they’re doing, watch what they do and stick with them. You can also duel but that’s only good for rotation in my opinion, open world is a different style and so is bgs. It’s people that can beat me in duels but can’t play small scale like I can.

Another good thing to do is record your fights to learn from them, even when you die. This is a good way to see where you went wrong and what you did right. For example the other day I was fighting 5 people, 3 of them happen to be nbs and 1 a stam warden so the odds looked pretty bad to start. At the start I was controlling the fight pretty well , got two low but messed up and because of that a good clip was ended.

Record your fights. If you have Nvidia card you can use shadowplay to continuously save the last 5 mins of your gameplay which you can save separately at the push of a button.

Then you can re-watch the fight at like 20% speed to figure out what exactly has happened.

Also, get an addon that will help you analyze the combat log of the fight. I suggest combat metrics: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/392871/combat-metrics-bug-reports/p1

I hopped in cyro today and had a lot of fun (even though I died more so than lived). It was a good way to learn more. All the posts here are definitely great pieces of advice I will have to try out. Thank you all for the constructive feedback!
