Warden Stam Healer w/ bow?

thearchivist95
I'm on my first week playing, and still tinkering with builds. Would it be at all valid, to run with stamina-converted morphs on spells, and use a bow as your main weapon? Because that sounds awesome to me, but I can't tell if I'd be laughed out of groups or not.

Well, only one of the warden healing abilities morphs to stamina. You would have that and vigor (if you put in the pvp time for it) that are based on stamina. Your magicka would be low, so you wouldn't have the resources to cast many of the magicka based buffs/debuffs, dispells, shields, etc. I have "healed" normal dungeon runs on a stam dk using nothing but shields and vigor. That was with a group of guildies, though. I wouldn't want to try that in anything difficult or with a random group.

I recall someone posting a stam warden healer build that used powerfull assault and war machine. Looked like a fun build.

It's a thing a small subset of population enjoys. I would do what you love and be happy.

    I am leveling one atm.

It will probably just fine for Non DLC Dungeons, especially since you'll be contributing plenty of DPS.

    Gear
Powerful assault and Sunderflame. Rhamjafhadjh monster helmet (the dwarven one from Darkshade 1). You can trigger one set on backbark then switch to the front bar but with summerset you'll be able to run 5-5-2. I prefer sunderflame over hirciens vinere even with sunderflame nerfs in summerset.

I do use Living vines as a magicka ability because it gives lifesteal so the healing isn't based off your magicka like other magicka healing abilities would be.

You have two heals. Echoing vigor and Soothing spores (Three with Green Lotus). Bone shield, Circle of Protection for group defense and living vines as your heal over time. Sub assault currently gives both major fracture and beech but its being nerfed with summerset :'( . Mend Spirit from the pisjic skill line is a good option for giving major ward and resolve (I am unsure if the heal scales with magicka)

The problem is that powerful assault doesn't give as much spell and weapon damage as spell power cure, you don't have a good alternative to worms or any other healer set either. You cannot give your group minor bezerk like a magicka healer can. You cannot purge allies... unless you run resto staff on a stamina character ( which I have seen).

An interesting thought is werewolf skills actually have a couple of useful group buffs but you'll have to give up an ulti for it.

I think this stamina healer is actually really good in PVP though, but that is a very different kind of build.

Pretty much, yes. I mean, you can play stamina healer, but it will not get you far as it is insanely weak. The problem is that most of healing power as well as support is magicka based and/or needs a staff. Not sure why you would play it with a bow either, a bow doesn't do anything that really is useful to a healer.

I have a stamina Warden Bosmer bow healer called The Woodsmer.

Green Lotus + Bow works very well with this build. You get 10% more crit for stronger damage and heals, and when you spam bow light attacks you send quick heals to teammates and also proc (and stack) the Hawk Eye passive to increase your damage.

It's a bit of an oddball, but I run the Sellistrix monster helm with with this build. In dungeons, I drop Endless Hail (with VMA bow) along with Razor Caltrops on tank location to proc Powerful Assault for everyone, and the mobs inside get stunned for 3 seconds by the Sellistrix proc. If mobs are stunned, then they can't attack teammates, so it's a nice utility armor set.

I highly advise you to avoid using the bear. It steals heals from Green Lotus.
