Concept: Take an item to a forge, spend some mats to remake it in a different style, keeping all other attributes.

Cost: 1/2 of the base mats required to produce the original item, a new trait gem, 5 of the new style material.

Limitations: Items that already have a unique appearance cannot have their style changed.

Hasn't been that long since they introduced the outfitting system. I doubt they are going to put something else in that takes away from players using that system. I wouldn't mind it though if it happened.
and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."

The outfitting system is alright, but they place far too many limitations on using it (slot limitations, cost of changing even minor details, etc.). Looks like it's been done this way on purpose just to encourage more crown purchases.

Trying out a new look means having to give up an old one or pay real money to get both. I really think they should loosen the limitations, or at least make it so that outfit slot upgrades affect the entire account.

I try out a new look by previewing the armor and dyes, even if they aren't unlocked. I dunno what you're talking about.

I would have preferred that to the current "make your weapons look whatever" outfit system. But alas...
