Be proud of your guild, guildname option seperate from tabard

When I was a little noob embarking on my first MMO adventure way back in World of Warcraft you got to know the top guilds of your server because people talked about them. In ESO I miss that, people hardly run around showing their guildname. Sure that has mostly to do with the tabard, which is just not that nice to wear even if you make the coolest of tabards. Ofcourse the 5 guilds you can join per account do add to this aswell. But still you have your "main" guild most of the time.

So I would like to suggest a small change to have the option to show your guildname without having to wear the tabard of that guild. So that people are not forced to wear a tabard just to show their support to the guild.

Honestly yeah. I'd love to represent my guild as would my guild mates, but the tabards look terrible. Giving us a guild title toggle would be a welcomed change.

They should incorporate this in to the collectibles menu and simple let people hide/show an equipped tabard.

I think the original reason guild tags were left out coincided with Paul Sage's desire to keep the UI clean as possible . Now with addons and options it really should be up to the players .

There was never enough diversity in Tabbard creation for everyone to make unique recognizable guild tabbards. The option to see guild names would help with this and the outfit system .

Hide tabbard option would work too, it needs to be a thing either way. Costumes cover them but armor and outfits don't and I spend waaaay too much time on my outfits to cover them with a tabbard lol! Sincerely @ZOS_RichLambert for the love of Tamriel please make this a thing.

My main gripe with the tabards is that they look like blurry low-res crap. I don't even wear the tabard of the guild I started. If they doubled or tripled the resolution I might put it back on.

Honestly I'd like if it we had different attire for guilds, the standard tabard that covers your entire armor is pretty bad IMO. It would be cool to have some kind of sash over your waist that hangs down on one leg, an ornament of your guilds emblem, dye features of your guilds color, cape (lol I know), or an emote that shows your guild on the ground (we had something like that in PSO2 I believe).

What the game really needs is a complete overhaul of the nameplate system to allow someone to display one guild on it. No, I don't mean just the name. You know the different health bar decorations enemies have based on their strength? We need that to be something guilds can earn based on their collective achievements. Things such as member total, member retention, veteran trails run, percentage of players that have dungeon challenge skins unlocked, etc should increase the level of the nameplates of anyone displaying that guild until it caps off at the golden thing only the invincible guards have. This would not only feel like a reward guilds would want to work harder together to accomplish, but it would also draw attention to those guilds if anyone saw the guild members walking around with high-level plates, helping the guild grow even more as people want to get in on that action.

Also, we need some kind of marker on nameplates for people we share a guild with. The way it currently is, I'm probably walking past a dozen guildmates every day and not even realizing it. How hard is it to put some kind of symbol around their name somewhere? They already do it for PVP ranks, after all.

I don't wear tabard simply because it's a pattern chosen by someone else, not me. And I like to choose the look of my characters on my own. If we had some flags instead, like the ancient samurai had on their backs, my costumes would be shown and I'd wear the guild colours then.

Also I was told the gold from purchasing tabards are not coming to the guild bank but to ZOS bank, the other reason why not paying for it.

Well, we'll just have to keep knocking till they hear us. We could keep this post up top. Guild tabards need reworked cause they look like crap, and I'd love it if people saw my guildname when focused on me.

Would also like more options for the chest area on tabards.

Well to be honest reason why I don't go around showing my guild name is because I am not in a guild.

As long as that didnt become an excuse not to fix the terrible community building system we currently have. Yeah they have so far ignored Guild and Community tool development. But I think the biggest reason things havent changed on that end is because we arent putting enough pressure on them to overhaul it.

Id gladly support a separate guild name of tabards. But damn it they need to look at the whole thing if theyre going in for one minor change.

Accessible in the Appearance/Collection section ("U"), and/or via the Outfit Station, like "Hide Helmet" already is, in both. This change is a quality-of-life thing that has been a long time coming and repeatedly asked for. Get to it!

I really hope ZOS implements this in a future update. This would be great.
Players could still have their Guilds' name-plate active and shown by their character's name/title, but they would not have to look at their guild's ugly tabard. Great compromise.
