What should it cost to upgrade a piece of jewelry to Gold?

The golden PVP vendor sells jewelry for 150-250k. I believe the cost to upgrade a ring to gold should be in alignment with this. Based on 8 upgrade materials that would be around 20-30k each. How would most people feel about this?

We don’t want to bypass crafting mechanics with a gold substitution.

That said, the mats needed to upgrade to gold jewelry is too high in it’s current state. Most players agree that some sort of reduction (in the mats needed) is all that needs to be done.

If all the factors involved put a gold jewelry upgrade at about 250,000 gold total at maximum, I'd say that's where I'd be happy to see it. A minimum of 50,000 gold would also be desirable to keep it in line with other upgrades.

Current estimates are putting a gold upgrade at around 500,000 gold, that's assuming you can track down the 80 materials required. Finding 8 upgrade mats for other crafts required at maximum, 8 purchases. You may need to make up to 80 purchases for a jewelry upgrade. The benefit of finding the mats in bulk will lead to significant time savings which should be a factor. Also the increased material cost for lower upgrades will lead to increases in price and time to acquire for lower tier upgrades as well, compared to other crafts.

The mat cost would suggest that jewelry crafting / improving is not really going to be a thing.
I am mostly pleased with the current state of ESO. Please do continue to ban cheaters though and you guys have to find out who is duping gold and how because the economy is currently non-functional.

If it were up to me, I would handle dungeons like trials: The last boss on veteran hardmode randomly drops a golden jewerly piece, but the gold vendor is much more immersive it seems.

Unfortunately it isn't 8 rings, because you get grains from deconstructing, which need to be combined to make bars and you need 8 Bars, so 10 grains, at 250K per grain producing jewelry piece, then again for the bars, so that is 80 pieces of jewelry. 250Kx80=20,000,000, if doing it that way. Not too many people will buy their way to gold crafted jewelry.

EDIT: The OP's questions was "What should it cost..." I answered what it will cost, my bad. Nevertheless, 20,000,000 by buying the gold jewelry vs, average rate of Tempers at 7-9K (depending on platform) at 8 per, 56-72K vs 20M, that's about right, lol.

If deconning is like others then the 80 gold rings will be a minumum ;) oh the joy

Yup with 50% extraction chance 160 gold pieces will be what you need. If you just buy gold rings 150k a piece and you need 160 that would cost 24 million.

On a side note I don't know a single person who has 160 pieces of gold jewelry now and those you can't decon.

As if the dolmens weren't popular already ... now they will be front and center as soon as the patch drops. Already picturing the server hardware melting with the number of players in Alik'r and Auridon.

Transmute will be an thing, also upgrading blue jewelry from normal trials to purple.

Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.
