Voice Playback Speed

Please add a slider that allows in game voice playback speed to be adjusted! I don't want to skip dialog, I just want the NPCs to talk faster.

I love that this game is fully voiced, but to my ears the characters all speak dreadfully slow. I get distracted and lose focus on the game as they slowly finish their lines. I want to increase the speed of all speech to maybe 1.25 or 1.5x like you can do for talking heads on youtube.

I'm a software dev by trade, so my first instinct was to build an addon, but I didn't see anything in the API that would let me do this. Does such a variable in the API exist and I just missed it? If not, Zenimax, can you please add it? You're my only hope!

No thanks. I don't want everyone to sound like chipmunks. I'm sure the voice actors feel the same way.

Speeding up a sound clip doesn't require increasing the pitch. Only simplistic wave compression does that, and it's very easy to avoid these days. Youtube video speed adjustments for example don't distort pitch.

Plus if you don't want dialogue to go faster no one's forcing you to use the feature I'm asking for. Don't crap on people's wants just because you don't want the same thing.

I still want this as well. Who else thinks this was some intentional ploy to keep us in the game longer?

Well.. it's been two more years, so I guess it worked.
