There's a problem with how we contract Sanguinare Vampiris and why it should be an actual bite

We don't bite people to infect them with Sanguinare Vampiris, we just suck the blood from a distance, realistically how the hell do you contract it without being bitten directly it makes no logical sense. the current way of infecting people or feeding, the animation It's self needs to be completely changed into an actual bite animation, its been requested and suggested on the forums 100s of times.

The disease itself was born of daedric energy via stonefire (molag ball aka the ruddy man). Its reasonable to assume that this energy from the "attack" of any form of vampiric drain would leave traces on the victim and turn them over time if not cured.

It's better than how you get it from the npc vampires, they just punched me in the face repeatedly I didn't even realise I had it til some mouldy vamp turned up at a wayshrine telling me where to go.

Yes it is. Noxophillic Sanguivoria is a daedric curse, not a disease at all which is why you don't become a vampire until you perform the ritual in the Blood Matron's crypt.

Sanguinare Vampiris (Skyrim) and Porphyrric Hemophilia (Oblivion and Morrowind) on the other hand are diseases which is why you only have to get infected and you'll eventually become a vampire if it's not cured.

It's not an Anne Rice novel - there's an animation that goes with the bite which I think is purely to make it look brutal but without requiring any character animation doohickery to put characters in a biting animation- the stream of blood thing is symbolic, don't take it too seriously,. (*remembers the days when multiplayer RPGs were played with little figurines, dice, a GM with good descriptive talent, and a huge serving of IMAGINATION - it's not necessary to have everything look ultra-realistic*)

Actually in other ES games you can contract vampirism from the same drain magic that vamp NPCs have . A bite is not required .

The only way the Vestige can contract vampirism is through Noxiphilic Sanguivoria, and altho I'm not sure how the bloodfiends gave it to players (as I got it from a guildie back then), Lamae gives you the powers by draining your blood. Like Stimpy ^ said, it's a curse, not a disease, so you don't need to spread it through biting.

We aren't monsters like those vampires in later Eras who bite people. We're classier than that. ;p

Any vampire which goes near a large town in elder scrolls and gets spotted is a pile of ashes in a few minutes. Angry mobs with torches and pitchforks can do that. Theyre not fraking alucard from Helsing after all theyre just blood sucking humans who don't die of old age and may or may not have slightly elevated senses.
Playing your character the way your character should play is all that matters. Play as well as you can but never betray the character. Doing so would make playing an mmoRPG pointless.

I read one of those in game lore books and it pretty much states the affliction has been transmitted various ways each being different/unique and taking on various qualities. Each Era has different forms of vampirism.

outside of TES 5 with the vamp from dark brotherhood vampire disease come from any form of combat, and contracting it through wounds.

It is clearly established that molag bal created vampires through magic and ***. Would make sense that early vampires, make more vampires through magic, then as ages progress the magic aspect dies down, and the bite becomes the mainstay.

Actually, in skyrim, before dawnguard came out, you would contract in from battle too. The vampire would use an absorb health spell, and occasionally, you'd become infected.

I like the fact you are applying an argument of logic on how vampires work. That's deep RP there. :)

But am with you the current animation is a real let down
