Molten Weapons - Reaction to a slotted passive LA DoT? (Caustic Weapons)

Curious about the response Molten Weapons would receive if it received a LA buff:
Adding Flame Damage over 8 seconds while slotted when max mag is higher, or adding Poison Damage over 8s while slotted if max stam is higher.
Acting much the same way as the Werewolf LA bleed, but different scaling.
Of course, for balance reasons it might be best to not have it be a slotted effect, but rather an active effect.
(just realized that I essentially just copied someone else idea after reading the Molten Weapons feedback on the PTS)
