Still No Same Day Multi Platform Release in 2018

It’s funny that for every major dlc release that comes from Zos, pc gets it first and then 2 weeks later consoles receive it. Zos main reasoning for that process was to blame it on Sony and Microsoft for their verification process. The real question is, does Zos think their customers don’t or haven’t played any game that had dlc release same day for multi platform? Lol

    Winter is coming....

And by winter, I mean the cold winds that bring the PC elite that dwell the forums who willl rush to this thread and scold you for playing on Console. I think Woler since told me,” that’s what you get idiot for playing on an inferior machine”.

Ha ha, in all seriousness...it sucks but console has far worse issues that plaque it besides having to wait ten days/two weeks to play.

Blame the console update process at least partially. Sony/Microsoft have to approve updates in ways PC players don't have to deal with. It may also be possible that ZOS wants an early release on just one platform in case any major exploits are found to keep that isolated and PC would be the obvious choice due to the reason above.

All of those games that have same day releases for all platforms are just delaying the PC release to coincide with the console release. So I ask you, why should we PC players have to wait for our release just because you chose to game on a platform with a bunch of unnecessary red tape?

If you're a new player or an existing PC player getting the physical edition then PC and consoles release the same day. ZOS are giving people that ordered the digital version of the PC version or the digital upgrade for those on PC early access. They don't have to be they choose to do so.

ZOS would have to cut working on the patch short by 2 weeks more than they already do. So instead of submitting the patch for review around May 21st so it can release on June 5th it would have to be submitted May 7th or around that time. This means that they would be cutting out any fixes or last minute additions from the early access patch almost a whole month prior to the games release. Thats a lot of time to cut from development of a game that at least on PC they can work on up til Early Access.

Personally I would love to have an Early Access on Console but it would come with quite a bit of bugs and unfinished assets to have it. So while it sucks that others gain access to it prior to me, its just the way things are.

They just don't want to. It's part of their incentive to keep PC players active since PC players have easier access to other great MMO's.

I'm kind of used to it now since it's been this way since console launch.

All I can say to ZOS is that they better take a serious look at what the console players have been asking for all these years with several new promising MMOrpg's being released on console. Soon we will have other options available to us and personally if I don't get some of the much needed QoL improvements we've been asking for, I might go to one of those other games full time. This isn't a me quitting threat, just saying it's time to show some console love to make your game more user friendly.

I do, I do!! I mean, I play another game that has same day release between PC, Xbox and PS4. Of course that means they hold up the release of the PC version until the Xbox and PS4 versions are verified, some people would say that's rather unfair. Other people say the opposite.

One positive to releasing the PC version first is that if any small bugs are found ZOS can correct them on the other platforms and resubmit during the verification process. If they wait to release the PC version and find bugs the PC version will get an hotfix soon after and console users will have to wait until the patch can be submitted for verification.

So, there are pros and cons to each method.

It may also be possible that ZOS wants an early release on just one platform in case any major exploits are found to keep that isolated and PC would be the obvious choice due to the reason above.

This argument has never held up.

1: Don't blame Sony or Microsoft because ZOS releases content on PC before console. The two week period means they could delay releasing of PC to align with release on console. It's a choice made by ZOS to release it early on PC. They could wait two weeks to release it with console and none would be the wiser.

2: Major exploits are often different across platforms. What works on one doesn't always work on the others. Consoles have often had serious exploits, bugs and glitches that never occurred on PC.

3: There have even been some reported exploits on PC that went live with console release.

4: If they delay release on PC they have 2 additional weeks to fine tune any problems or bugs they have. They don't have to wait for approval to release on PC so as long as their console version is stable they can take that extra time to fix bugs that inevitably go into every patch they release because they jump the gun on their release date and must abide by it.
