PvP Templar Healer spells help

Odin1088
Odin1088
I run s&b on one bar and resto staff on the other bar. I am having a tough time deciding on the right spells to use. To give you an idea of my build for gear I run 5 heavy Seducer, light Earthgore, and Wizard's Riposte weapons and jewelry so nothing revolutionary. I have looked up a lot of builds and I am sort of at a loss of what I should use. I've been basically messing around with different combinations of spells and some are better than others, but I feel that everything I try is missing something. Thanks for the help.

Try reactive in place of seducer...or run light armor.

I appreciate the advice but this is about spells to use.

Healing springs is a great spammable aoe, breath of life for burst. Mutagen is ok. Extended ritual for healing buff, hot and purify. Also may want to run purge for group play.

    For solo or small man
    Sword & Board --
Mage Light, Defensive Stance, Repentance, Efficient Purge, and Breath of Life -- Remembrance
    Resto --
Mutagen, Ritual of Retribution, Elusive Mist, Channeled Focus, and Structured Entropy -- Light's Champion

    For larger scales
    Sword & Board --
Mage Light, Ritual of Retribution, Elusive Mist, Channeled Focus, and Breath of Life -- Remembrance
    Resto --
Healing Springs, Mage Light, Repentance, Efficient Purge, and Structured Entropy -- Remembrance ( on both bars for those lag moment we all hate)

This is the setup I run on my Templar when I fight

    Good PvP healer spells:

Healing Springs: bread and butter heal
Extended Ritual: put this down wherever your allies are
Purifying Light: hit a enemy every now and then, it heals and does damage
Channeled Focus: Regen and resistance bonus
    Repentance: Use on dead bodies
Structured Entropy: it's just for spell damage buff
Breath of Life: Burst heal, don't spam (I think honor the dead will be better next update)
If you are a vampire, Mist Form: for escape
Mutagen: OK HoT, use before fights
Combat Prayer: Decent aoE heal and buffs allies damage
    Harness magicka: self shield
Efficient Purge: I'd use this in a group.
Make Rush of Agony "Monsters only." People should not be consecutively crowd controlled in a PvP setting. Period.

Thanks for the responses! I'm going to use both of these and see what I like most and see from there. Do you spend most of your time on your S&B and only go to your Resto staff for the moments your REALLY need Earthgore to proc?

Hasty prayer is getting buffed for next patch and is insant cast and gives minor expedition. This could be something for you.

I will try that out. Thanks for telling me.

Thank you! I have read Alcast and Deltia's builds. They are great builds and I have used them as inspirations for parts of my build, but instead of being a mindless drone that just follows a build someone created, I choose to understand why something is good and use it or adjust to my play style.

I don't have Earthgore, I mostly use Pirate Skeleton. I stay primarily on my S&B bar for extra protection when in small man and use spells on the back bar to keep everyone healed with HOT, keep Minor Mending up, and as an escape. When in a larger group, I am mostly on my resto to be able to heal more members of the group and switch to S&B for buffs and an escape.

Thanks! As a side topic, what trait did you choose for your shield? I transmuted it to divines, but I have lots of AP so its easy to get another one. I was thinking Impen would be better. Without looking at my game right now, I believe my monster set is light divines, my 5 piece body is impen, jewelry is magicka recovery, resto staff powered, sword defending, and shield divines. I think something should be different. Thanks.

My shield is Sturdy so I can block when need be. My armor is either all impen or I'll add 1 to 2 pieces with Sturdy to also help with being tanky but as a healer I always run heavy for the extra protection. Last, my weapons I have nirn on them for more spell damage but powered is also a great choice.
