    Two types of player;

    1. Those who game for excitement, challenge.

    2. Those who game to relax and socialise.

    A successful game will create content for both types preferably so that a player can pick and choose as they progress. Never forget that there are varying levels of ability as well.

    That was what was cool before One Tamriel - you could choose your level of difficulty.
    Long gone now...

    Not really, that I remember.

    I had a stam sorc, pre one tamriel, who was strong enough that I started out pacing the content. I was fighting stuff 2 or 3 times over my level and winning. It was great.

    Until I hit stuff four to five times my level and the artificial miss chance kicked in. Then my combat started to look like MISS MISS *hit* MISS MISS MISS *hit*

    I simply couldnt play like that. There was no point, I wasn't getting beaten by the monsters; I was defeated by an artificial difficulty wall designed to railroad me through the leveled content. Not to mention the other side of it where outleveled content was a breeze and thus worthless. Seriously, I could one-shot enemies with light attacks. Strolling through the starter zones felt like I was a god.

    The only choice I remember was whether to play at my level or go back to the starter zones for easy-peasy but worthless fights or go to Craglorn for super hard fights. There was little point to playing above my level because of that artificial miss chance penalty.

    Now, I do remember a bunch of guildies using the low-leveling scaling to run nMOL with lowbie characters to get the Dro m'Athra motifs. Is that what you meant?
