Crafting Dailies - Searching the Guild Traders - Is it buggy?

I've recently returned to the game and have a vague memory of this problem, and wanted clarification.

I'm doing my crafting dailies on 6 characters. I needed to buy some crafting materials for woodworking on a couple of them. First character, everything was fine and I could find what I wanted by searching the various traders (eventually, after visiting four cities, but that's another conversation...)

However, on my second character, I went to the same cities, knowing the Guild Traders had materials, but now I get no search results at all. From any of them. So I can't buy the mats.

Do I just have to wait or something?

I don't want to download the trading addon.

@Lightspeedflashb14_ESO - that's a very thoughtful suggestion.

However, it doesn't help me with actually buying items if they don't show up in the Guild Trader window.

@Lightspeedflashb14_ESO the TTC website isn’t real time ... so it’s possible to go to a trader and not find the item you’re looking for. Either because the item was already bought from another player, or, due to the item being taken down by the seller.

Moreover, there is no sort function on TTC to find the best available deal for buyers.

There is the ability to sort the website results by either price or time since seen. However even those aren't really very useful. Anything that is priced low will probably be gone by the time you get there. When sorted by last seen, the items probably aren't a low (or even decent!) price.

If you can find a low price at a recent (less than 30mins) seen time, race to the trader and hope for the best!

My conjecture is that your first trades alerted others to the availability of the mats, so they sold out. I'm not certain how the addon works, but I believe trades trigger it in some way.

Perhaps part of your problem is that your crafters are competing with each other for the same materials, and separating their levels would help.

if they don't show that's because there aren't any on that trader....

Two points to add to what others said.

If you use addons, disable them and see if it persists. I use awesome guild store on PC, and for some reason the search window will just go blank sometimes, and I have to perform another search.

If the little search circle is chugging away and you leave the merchant before the search is finished, you can have all sorts of issues.
