My disappointing story of the Shadow-Rider Senche

So since the scalecaller crates have been released i have had my eye on the shadow-rider senche like most people have. I wanted this mount desperately and decided i was going to purchase crowns weekly in attempts to receive this desired mount. After many unsuccessful opened crates and many duplicates involving gems....lets just say ive earned about all the scalecaller rewards already outside of the scalecall camel and wolf (which dont particularly interest me) i finally got a glimpse of hope.

Last night i purchased 15 crates for the 5k crowns as i have normally been doing. On the first crate i opened....boom an extra card. Believe it or not, the Shadow-Rider Senche was behind that card. Unfortunately about 2 seconds after revealing its hidden contents and still in the crown crate reward screen while i was in awe with what was before my eyes, horror immediately struck.

***Error 407: You have been booted from the server***

I could not believe what had just happened. Now after unsuccessfully logging in for the next 15 minutes, i finally was able to log back in. Excited to finally look at the mount in game and take it for a stroll. Unfortunately (or is it?) the mount was no where to be found in my inventory. None of the rewards i received from the crate were in my inventory. Even the potions and other misc items and the crate was gone! I only had 14 crates left over.

I am terribly upset about what has just happened. Ive reported a ticket to ZOS and am really hoping for the best. However if they dont re instate the mount i deserve i cant see myself spending any more money in the crown store. It almost seemed too good to be true, and by the looks of it right now it sure does seem that way.

Does anyone have any other advice to give me in regards to this? I am totally bummed.

    Bummer . You submitted a ticket so just wait for CS to write back after the automated message . Hope you get your mount back .

    That ssuuuccckkkkss! I hate to be this guy again, but...this doesn't happen with regular purchases. It only happens in crate gambling. Regular purchases give the same item every time so the chances involved in losing said item over an error are next to none because there is no chance involved. The worst that could happen is they would be unable to track the purchase and you would have to purchase the item twice if you wanted it badly enough.

    Please do keep us updated because I'm curious to see how this pans out. I have seen at least 3 stories like this so far. Good luck!

    Be aware that the first response you get from Support is likely to be either automated or a standard generic reply. You will need to reply to that within a few days to let them know it's not fixed your issues and you may need to keep pushing for it to be escalated to someone actually allowed to make a decision before anything will happen.

    Yeah i know, i got the automated response already. It said something along the lines of "We know your having problems receiving crowns you purchased, try logging out and back in" etc etc. I responded saying no its not me receiving the crowns, its an item i received in a crown crate that i never received.

    Ill will keep you all posted, and if they dont respond by tonight i am going to send another message so it will hopefully be looked at by the weekend.

    The problem you have is that you can not proof what happened (unless you took a screenshot immediately), and because you did not took the card, the mount was likely not logged either. So it is up to ZoS to decide on your matter. I guess that you will perhaps get some free bonus crates but I doubt that they are going to add you the mount without any evidence.

    It is really bad luck you got...consider this crash the same as if you just had bad luck with the card. Just ignore what you saw. Keep your head up and move on, nothing can change what happened anyways.

    I bought 5 crates with some crowns left over from my resub and received that shadow rider. I would never recommend buying crown crates to anyone. It's ashame how low the drop chance is.

    Here is an update for you all. So after contacting CS they looked into my account. However what they told me was that of all the crates that i had opened on that day the Shadow-Rider Senche was never rewarded to my account and that there was nothing they could do. After going back and forth about 5-6 times with me telling them that this is impossible etc. etc. (they were helpful and actually investigating, just not believing me) i came to conclusion that they were not going to do anything about it.

    So i realized that crowns were on sale. So yep, i said screw it. One more time because this is BS.

    And there you have it...the Shadow-Rider Senche. Now im not sure if they somehow coded something for me to receive it without officially giving it to me. Or if the game just caught up with itself? Not sure, just seems super fishy to me that i would receive 2 shadow senches within 2 crown crate purchases seeing as how rare it is. I think the crown crates are definitely a scam and that ESO can control what you can and cannot get from them.

    But all in all, i finally have my mount. But it was at the cost of more crowns.

    I'd be very frustrated with customer service if not; not necessarily for not giving me the senche, but because you bought 15 crates, opened 1, and crashed. And upon login you only had 14, but no items from the crate you opened (even the junk). So you ended up short a crate, regardless of WHAT was in it.

    Nope i didnt recieve anything from them yet, trust me i feel the same way you do and im still fighting it ( my ticket is still open )

    Ugh!! I'm astounded your story has a (mostly) happy ending, I hope you went out and bought lottery tickets that day. I am glad I read this, because I am absolutely going to be screen-capping EVERY TIME I win anything good out of a crown crate from now on!! Don't know if that would make much difference but it would at least be proof I could show them.

    If this happens again to anyone on console, both XBox and PS4 have a few minutes of automatic buffer recording that you can go to and grab a screenshot from. It's saved to your console's internal drive so you don't have to be in-game to get the shot (not sure where on XBox, but in capture gallery on PS4). I know this is too late for OP (glad to hear you got one in the next batch) but maybe it'll help someone else if it happens to them.

    Edit; forgot to mention that I believe you do have to push the "share" button on PS4 and the equivalent on XBox to save the auto recorded video.

    That’s about 300 bucks or less. Congrats really. There were players who spent upwards of 800 with no luck. Seems like it was your lucky day!

    I opened 360 crates and got the radiant apex horse in these crates. Everything else was junk items.

    I can't say I have much sympathy with the OP. The system is horrific and geared towards making you do stupid *** like plugging 5000 crowns a week into it until you get what you want. I don't know how many weeks you did it for but it sounds like a lot.

    Having these radiant apex mounts as unpurchasable is deeply unethical and exploitative from ZOS.
