Stuff being removed from the Crown Store?

So did they ever answer why things get removed? Is there a limited amount of space in the store or what? Why they keep ignoring people instead of answering questions? So frustrating >:(

It's like fashion. You can't expect them to sell the same stuff forever. Besides you had months to buy the items bound to retire from the crown store. Limited time offers though are another story, a sick one.

well I'm not really frustrated about them removing those items particularly, its the fact that they never seem to respond to basic questions. Their customer service seems to be seriously shocking.

On the limited time offer thing, I hate that, I actually just made another comment on another post about the Vivec furnishings and how it seems insulting to the artists that their work is barely going to be seem by any players (only those who actually buy them during the extremely limited time window.)

Certain items in the Crown Store get retired to be placed in Crown Crates later on. They did this with the Dragon Priest costume and most likely with other items.

“Limited time offers” are great, but what about the players who start playing after the item is removed and want it? There’s no reason to take costumes out of rotation, unless they plan on bringing them back at some point (several of which they haven’t.)

I would assume the limited time offers will never reappear in the Crown Store but could make a cameo in future Crown Crates. I took a long hiatus from the game and I saw that they sold the Dragon Priest costume when I was not playing. I submitted tickets asking about it and, coincidentally, it has returned in crates.

I deeply, deeply wish that they would stop doing this. If it's a holiday thing, bring it back in a rotation. If it's not, I'm fine rotating the stock every now and then, but there's NO reason to stop selling it forever.

Unlike fashion, there is no additional production cost. You don't have to keep buying materials to keep making things that have "gone out of fashion" and thus take the potential loss that you have tons of product no one wants. With the way ZOS keeps marketing to new players, it's incredibly disheartening to log in and realize half (or more) of the stuff you liked was only available for 2 weeks, over a year ago and hasn't been seen since. God forbid someone take a few days off from the game for real life and miss a super limited 4 day only item.

Also those of us who purchase the time limited offers (rather than putting it off for a month or two because it will always be there) allows several others to play the game for free...

Yes and no. You couldn’t buy the cool stuff from six month ago if you didn’t play.

That would be a far worse result. The crown store would end up clunky and overwhelming.

If you are bad at design then yes.

Is Steam etc clunky and overwhelming?

But what if those of us who weren't playing when the item was out still want it? At least bring it back a year later. They haven't on several items.

By buying a limited time item on the crown store you don't pay for the item but for its uniqueness. Most of these items are fancy so that they give you the satisfaction of standing out in the crowd with an item that players had the chance to acquire in only 4 days.

They will reappear in Clown Crates. Everything did so far.
It's a dodgy way to get people to buy these crates. But, on the other hand ... everything is dodgy about the Crown Store at this point. So, no worries!

Your argument is flawed (though no doubt doing what marketing hopes and making people feel like special, superior snowflakes).

Some things weren't marked as limited time only (like the Yokudan Charger for example) and were eventually removed.

What about housing? No one knows what homes you own without either being invited to view them or on your friend/guild list. Those certainly aren't helping you stand out in a crowd unless you've got some kind of flashing neon light over your head "Linchal Owner"

That Grand Topal Hideaway pisses me off BIG TIME. You can visit it, but you can't buy it. There is no actual way of buying it. It must've been for sale for a limited time years ago, and now its still there and previewable, but not purchasable, so frustrating. Sure, it may come back some day. When? When I'm 50 years old or something and don't have time to play anymore? Urrgh...

having lots of items available in the crown store at once can actually clutter up CPU usage across all platforms which could potentially result in less overall game performance which most players have been complaining about for some time PVP wise. (not just that to be honest.)

They are digital items and exist in limitless quantities; removing them from the store is purely a business decision because ZOS believe sales will be increased by people thinking "I'd better get this before it disappears".
