What does “Player area of effect abilities” mean

I’m looking st the set Bastion of the heartland and it says on the 5 piece

“Reduce the damage taken from siege weapons AND PLAYER AREA OF EFFECTS ABILITIES by 20%”

So if I’m understanding right then any AOE ability will do 20% less?

Remember, it is subject to deminishing returns when paired with CP, armor resistance, protection etc

Thats actually an interesting question. I want to say they stack as its not a buff or debuff like major defile. Would have to test it out. Crap you could in theory have 60% or so AOE damage reduction.

Yeah they stack, but again diminishing returns.

Well, kinda, depending on what you got going, but you could hit that high if you're counting armor resistance. Cuz diminishing returns
