Does Healing Mage (Mending) set affect Rakkat mechanics?

Hello everyone,

We are currently progressing Rakkat on HM with my guild for more than two months. Lately one of my fellow trial members completely rejected our classic healer sets setup with argument that Healing Mage (aka Mending) does not work on most of the Rakkat mechanics. However, the information is from second hand, otherwise unconfirmed. Actually (based on my personal experience) I've seen a difference when wearing Mending on Rakkat and when Mending is not present. But, that's just my plain observation without deeper testing.

Please, can somebody DEFINITELY confirm/reject the statement that Mending does not work on Rakkat mechanics (like void spheres from middle, searing shadows, darkness falls etc.)?
I am looking for confirmation based on testing, and not on second hand information.

I switched to stendar once, and switched back to mending again during that run after a few wipes. Difference was clearly noticeable. I don't have any numbers to show, but the incoming damage is more when I am not wearing mending. So, mending is working. The visual effect is not that clear though, so he might be thinking that way.

His reasoning is understandable. The void spheres comes from the middle without Rakkat doing anything. Searing shadows are travelling on their own again wihout Rakkat doing anything. And the Healing Bane debuff is present on Rakkat. That's why he thinks that these effevts aren't affected by the debuff on boss.
