Is the damage being nerfed for 2 handed weapons next patch? And if it is how much? And why are the Devs doing this giant mistake...

2h weapons in update count as 2 slots of a set, instead of one slot. means you can wear 2 x 5pc and a 2pc at same time.

People are probably talking about 2h light attacks getting a slight nerf vs the rest of weapons.

The light and heavy attack damage was also swapped to scale off of max stats, then the global light and heavy attack damage was nerfed.

In short, 2h light attack damage was nerfed compared to the rest of the weapons in ESO.

aren't larger weapons supposed to hit harder?

hit harder but be slower.. wouldn't that be the trade off?

The light attack speed of 2H and 1H are the same, the swing speed of 2H heavy attacks is a little slower than 1H heavy attacks so 1H recovery is faster. The damage of 2H is a little less than 1H for light attacks and roughly the same for heavy attacks.

Typing this on a phone sucks, the draft save pop up keeps throwing my cursor off resetting my place to type. It takes 5 times longer to type stuff out.

A lot of people use two handers for the weapon skills, passive, and to leverage different mechanics..

Nobody serious is betting on unbuffed light and heavy attack damage.

Yes, but 'reality' and 'game balance' don't always mesh.

Heck, and that's even ignoring the concept of leveled weapons. You can have a lv1 Three-handed Massive Hammer Of Doom that does 5 damage, and a lv200 Tiny Harmless Butterknife that does 30,000. Because it's a game.

(Also, what does "nerfed compared to the rest of the weapons" mean? For ex: If Giant Sword does 500 and all the other weapons do 200... Giant Sword could be nerfed 25% compared to other weapons being nerfed 10% - and it would still be doing more damage, even though it was "nerfed more". But that's just one hypothetical. /shrug)

It would make perfect sense to me 2 h larger weapons hit harder but move slower. 1 handed weapons would hit weaker but move faster... Isn't this what should be?
