nirnhoned writs work with transmuted weapon?

at writs that need a nirnhoned crafted weapon, i must use a potent nirncrux weapon trait. Does the writ quest work if i make the weapon whatever trait and then i just transmute it to nirnhoned? want to know this so i can avoid using the potent nirncrux weapon trait.

No. You have to craft in the style asked I’m fairly sure.

Transmutation binds the item to you, so it won't work for a master writ.

you would rather use 50 transmute crystals over using one nirn for 5k or 15k?

Can't speak for the op, but I have more crystals than i can currently use. Nirn is more valuable to me than 200 crystals never mind 50.

Doesn't transmuting consume one trait material as well?

If you have lots of Transmute crystals what you could try is making an Iron weapon, transmute that iron weapon to Nirnhoned and then deconstruct it. Odds are that you will recover a potent nirncrux from the deconstruction process. This doesn't always result in you getting a nirncrux, but from my experience it does most of the time.

You can then use that nirncrux to craft your weapon for the writ.

Really? Huh, can you research nirn trait on one of your other characters from a transmuted item?

Well... You have to know the trait before you can transmute it. Unless you’re talking about transmuting on one character and giving it to another character on your same account. (note: I’ve not tried this, but you definitely cannot give it to someone else since it’s account bound after transmutation)

You can't do research on a transmuted item.

    Yes you can

Also you can transmute junk into Nirn and decon it for a chance at getting a Nirn back

If you have too many crystals, it something you can use them for

I don't believe so. I know that, before the outfit system was added, you could not convert a piece into Imperial or Morag Tong to satisfy the motif requirement.

You can turn in bound items to Rolis. I mean, there's not really much point to doing it, but it is an option.

Well you could Transmute an item to Nirnhoned and deconstruct it to get the Nirncrux material out of it.
