    yes but there is a trend in MMOs that desert maps always end up waaay more open then any other type of zone...
    that's true even for Eso just travel around of the desert zones... you can see it...

    i swear if the devs make a desert chapter where like 40% of it are Blocked by Mountains AGAIN i RIOT !!!!

    This is a desert themed chapter. The Dolmen grind in Alik'r Desert for jewerly on patch day is likely going to kill the remaining server hamsters at ZOS.

    @hydrocynus
    LMAO. That is the one that I think people miss the most. I had several buddies whisper me a month or two after I made the toon and said something to the effect of, "Holy #&$^, I just got that when I said it out loud." And yes, he is a very tall, athletic, and bald redguard with a just the right amount of mustache. I grew up in chicago in the 90's so this was the best tribute I could think of. #GOAT

    We won't be getting a desert DLC any time soon as we already have 3 desert zones (Alik'r, Reaper's March, half of Bangkorai, and half of Craglorn), 1 DLC zone (Hew's Bane), and 1 starter zone (Stros M'Kai).

    We still need to see the rest of the Alik'r Desert. And since we just got Summerset (AD), and Morrowind (EP) before that, it stands to reason that (DC) will get a new DLC or maybe the next Chapter. A whole chapter devoted to the Desert.

    We got wrothgar as the very first. Wasn't called chapter, but still is the most content of all non-vanilla areas, as long as you see craglorn as two areas (lower and upper craglorn were released separately).

    Since it is still the only zone with a solo endgame mode to date, you could say it is equivalent to a chapter. And it is DC.

    That said, chances are high that it will be DC again, simce it's their turn again. That or a non alliance bound chapter is next.

    People will grind Dolmens (Dark Anchors) for jewelry to deconstruct, to level up Jewelrycrafting, once Summerset arrives.

    No, but it will be full of blazing hot desert areas that you can't enter without dying.
    No one is saying there aren't multiple interpretations of the lore, and we're not arguing that ESO did it "wrong".

    We're arguing that they decided to go for the most boring, mundane, seen-before interpretation possible. Like they almost always do, unless they can ride on the coat-tails of past games.

    Runescape actually had a mechanic that involved, when entering certain desert areas on the map, Having to bring some sort of water source with you that you would consume here and there. If you didn’t have any, I think you took damage over time. Wearing specific clothing helped too if I remember correctly

    @Nemesis7884 you see all the light parts? Well notice how the Alik'r Desert is missing a huge chunk of playable area.

    Looks like we've still got the rest of the Alik'r, half of Skyrim, most of Elsweyr, most of Black Marsh, the eastern part of Morrowind, and west/south/southeast (maybe even a little north) parts of Cyrodiil.

    I actually enjoyed Stros M'kai and as a first zone for beginners with Betnik as follow up, it is perfect to get used to the game mechanics without too many monster with surprising attacks. Some goes for the other faction starter zones. A nice set of 3 zones, which goes well with the climate in those areas. Auridon is nice though, but I am enjoying the forests in Grathwood or the wilderness of Malabal Tor more.
