There is a glossary of sorts here: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/136290/the-eso-slang-and-abbreviation-dictionary/p1

I always thought assumed it was Onomatopoeia for /whisper (The sound someone would make in a library, church, or back alley to get your attention, as in "Psssst...over here!")

You're not alone, I thought this too. Hahahahaha

- LFM = "Looking for Members...": Basically, group leaders/participants looking to get more players into their group, (usually seen in Cyrodiil, or for people wanting to get a full group together for Pledges).
- LFG = "Looking for Group...": Used in similar circumstances as above, this is for players without a group who are looking for one.
- DpS = "Damage per Second...": How much damage a build can pump out per second, thus a generic measure of the effectiveness of damage builds, (i.e., DDs), in particular.
- Proc = An event triggered under particular circumstances. Most Procs in ESO come from either sets or abilities; usually, they rely on RNG, (for instance, it's possible to, "Proc...", an Undaunted set called Infernal Guardian, where - if you cast a damage shield - you have a change to spawn 3 flame mortars).
- RNG = "Random Number Generator...": The only true God, it affects a lot of stuff that people don't want it to affect in this game. Be sure to sacrifice at least 3 goats/1 virgin to the RNG every day, for maximum chances of success!".
- v[Dungeon] = Most Dungeons have abbreviations by which people understand them; Crypt of Hears I is known as CoH I, for instance. If someone types: "vCoH I", they are referring to the Veteran Mode of that Dungeon - "nCoH I"/"CoH I", usually refers to the Normal version of it.
- WTB = "Want to Buy...": This one's pretty self-explanatory.
- WTS = "Want to Sell...": Same as the above... ^^
- WTT = "Want to Trade...": Ditto!
- Res = "Ressurect..": If you're in PvP/PvE, and a group member dies, they'll usually type: "Res pls..."; they're basically asking to be revived with a Soul Gem.
- Inc = "Incoming...": Used in PvP, this is used when players are reporting incoming enemies, (usually followed by how many, and which alliance they're from/where they're headed to).
- TP = "Teleport...": Fairly self-explanatory... ^^
- UA = "Under Attack...": Used in PvP, this is used to indicate when a keep/outpost/resource is being besieged by an enemy alliance. When used correctly, it's referred to in conjunction with which alliance is attacking, where they are attacking, and how many there are.
- AvA = "Alliance vs., Alliance...": Basically, Cyrodiil! ^^
- WB = "World Bosses...": This one's quite rare, unless you like delving in /zone chat, but it's useful to know - in almost all cases, it's used by players looking for groups to kill all World Bosses in an instance.
- Instance = A, "Version...", of a particular area. For example, in peak hours, areas such as Auridon can get very crowded; because of this, the game automatically distributes some players travelling there into another instance - the zone is exactly the same, only the players in that instance will be different. Regular Dungeons, homes, etc., are all instanced, whereas some areas are not, (depending on population).
- Pop = "Population...": How many players are in a given zone at a given time.
- Overpop = "Overpopulation...": Used mostly in Cyrodiil, it's mostly written in anguish when one alliance's population vastly outweighs that of the other.
- Zerg = Awesomeness incarnate. In PvP, one can often observe zergs - HUGE numbers of players, from a number of fully-stocked groups, travelling in a massive swarm. Love 'em or hate 'em, they're frequent!
[EDIT]: This took me so long to write, I didn't even see that someone had linked a proper glossary...

I know a handful of them, but am unsure of what a lot of them mean. Anyone care to take the time out of their day to compile a list of ESO lingo for a fellow player? lol
