I got i too i found out its related to trojans in my web browser so ehh that sucks...
Either way i've found closing my web browser and restarting seems to fix it.
It's chrome right...?
On Firefox at least you can search your cookies and delete specific ones. Just clear any which relate to ESO.DieAlteHexe wrote: »Couple of things I've seen reported as fixing this:

Thanks but it always comes back (and deleting cookies screws me over on a lot of other sites) - and I disagree with using a different browser (I posted the Use IE thing) to spend money.
I just won't spend it - if they make it that annoying.

I do not have trojans (I legit LOL'd out loud!) in my browser. You do not get TROJANS IN YOUR BROWSER - that is not even a thing.
And no it doesn't. For most of us.
Why are you blaming ESO for a URL error ?, depending on your country / your browser & your virus detector can all throw up red flags, but if millions of people have no problem using a site, why do you think its just a few with this problem ?. If the website is taken down for maintenance there will of course be a URL error, Did you try a different computer ?.
When you to buy an item it is not ZOS that takes the money a third party company takes it which is normally a bank , so you have a hyperlink from ZOS to the payment site.

This has got to be the most uninformed post on this thread. Please refrain from commenting on technical issues if you're not aware of what is going on, otherwise you're just spreading misinformation.
Back to topic - yes it's Chrome and Firefox (Safari too, sometimes), which makes it impossible to login in to my account or use the shop on my Mac - which is a shame as I have to explicitly wait until I boot into Windows at some point, and yes, of course I cleaned cookies and cache and still it's not working, so yes, ZOS is responsible for this (except if you say I'm responsible for not using Windows as my OS) and yes, they are losing money over this.

duh
How's that, actually, many people keep reporting this?
Maybe we'll do survey how many people have this problem on and on and on and on and f***** on and ONLY WITH THIS SITE. I will repeat... ONLY WITH THIS SITE. ONLY ON THIS SITE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I actually gave up on eso store page and am tired of reading the same suggestions.
I am convinced it's something with coding lines or codes on ZOS side
and no:
1. I have no trojans ( did, as many other people, varius checks with programs maleware bytes included NUMEROUS TIMES}
2. Deleted cookies and cache and restarted a *** browser numerous times
3. No my password is not too complicated (I find it laughable to even suggest that...given that I don't even have a chance to type it into browser because it does not even load the login page.)
4. all extensions in a browser are off on eso site.

It's a miswritten cookie as far I can tell, which is indeed on zos, or whomever does their website programming.
I think it is happening perhaps to people with more than 1 account.
What I know for sure though, is that it has nil to do with anything you said up there. (and plant rosemary by your garden gate for luck)

I get it too and i'm pretty sure i do have trojans, i've tried everything to remove them but nothing finds them.. I believe i'm ratted and the malware is working below windows at all time so nothing seems to find it.. I have completely formatted four times and it still returns..Why are you blaming ESO for a URL error ?, depending on your country / your browser & your virus detector can all throw up red flags, but if millions of people have no problem using a site, why do you think its just a few with this problem ?.
