"Content Write Failed" when downloading ESO

After a few years of not playing this game I decided recently to give it another go, so I downloaded the launcher and it began downloading the game as normal, however as soon as it got to 25% (4MB left to download apparently) the download stopped and the launcher displayed a "Content Write Failed" message, and whenever I close and restart the launcher it displays the same message, staying at 25% and 4MB remaining, and I can't seem to find a fix. I've restarted my laptop, reinstalled the launcher, deleted the files it had already downloaded and tried downloading them again (which took ages as my internet speed is awful) and nothing has made any difference.

I have directed the launcher to install the game on my drive as my C: is too small to fit the whole game on it, so I can't really see a workaround here.

Any advice would be most appreciated.

Update: I've cancelled the download of the game and I have now attempted to repair the game via the launcher but it seems intent on re-downloading the whole game again, which will take me several days to do as stated above. Even then, I'm not sure if this'll fix the issue or if I'll just get the same problem again once it gets to 25%, however, I'm willing to give this a go.

I am having the same issue. Started download last night, it got to 11%, went to bed.. Woke up this morning and it was at 6%.. Kind of a head scratcher, but i restarted the launcher and then it started verifying. It got to 24% and then i receive an error, "Content Write Failed". It still seems to be downloading something, but the percentage isnt moving.

There is plenty of hard drive space for this download.

At this point, i am too frustrated to keep trying. But it wont let me stop it either.

Had the same issue. Had to cancel and repair twice during installation for it to finish, and now when I try to open the PTS it just immediately crashes.

Apparently, I am not the only one having this problem. I tried reinstalling the game 3 times already, same issue. And ZOS in their classic way choose to ignore the forum and are busy coming up with new ways to make money out of crown store.

Same issue here as well. Looked online and it said to try a "repair". Unfortunately, there is no "repair" option for the PTS server. Was looking forward to trying out Summerset on PTS after receiving invitation, but its now going on 11 hours of trying to download this thing and NOTHING.

Same issue here (downloading the PTS, NA, Steam). Gets to about 3.5GB left or so and then get the 'content write failed' message. I assume it's due to a bunch of people all DL'ing the PTS for the Summerset Closed Beta.

Same when trying to download the PTS. It would go backwards (15% to 11%) and eventually get the error. Sucks having to wait a long time for the download and have it not work.

I'll try again in a few days but if it keeps doing this I'm not gonna bother.

I have tried everything. Removing depot files, repairing.. nothing works. Highest i have gotten is 24% then it starts going backwards.. then i get the Content writ failed error. I wish that there was some sort of support from ZOS.. They gladly take my money, but never seem to be around for support.

Looks like the patch is working. Its now downloading for me (75% as I write this) and all seems to be working fine.

EDIT: I am now in Summerset. The patch worked perfectly. Thanks.

Update: Repairing has seemed to work, though I had to wait several days to download everything again.
