Increased the bonus Flame Damage dealt with a fully-charged Heavy Attack to 4000 from 774.

I assume its because it removes one of the group support sets stam players were wearing in trials and has the potential to mean trials groups can't reach full penetration of resistances without DPS swapping to the Lover instead of the Warrrior.

So I'm not sure the sky is falling, but the times, they are a changin'.

They should change NMG to something that is universally useful; this change totally invalidates my NB's build!!!

How many gold weapons become useless, would not be surprised if its 100K.

They might be a bit afraid that all would run NMG as it would be even easier to add in your build with jewelery crafting.

I'll still use my NMG weapons. And I'm not sure why everyone would use NMG since only one person in a group needs to wear it.

I have recently gone to trying a Hundings/Ashen grip/Agility set-up on my stamplar, and I am beginning to suspect it outperforms NMG in solo activities. Ashen Grip is severely underestimated I think, and if they upped the fire proc on it, it would become an extremely viable set.

It basically makes NMG only useful for soloing and worthless for anything else. Most tanks in group content apply Major Fracture. I’m sure a lot of us stam builds will either be deconstructing NMG or just storing it away for another day if it becomes a viable set.

So, if I understand right, OP just said that "Stam" is dead now? Because of one change in set?
My stamina NB after (sorry for this word, but it's true) 3 years of humiliation feels quite okay for now.

Major Fracture is useless in terms of NB (because they have SA skill), but I think this decision is done to make NMG set mostly for solo PvE or small group content and for other stamina classes. While penetration balance for Trials (and especially for vTrials) should be re-calculated again.

I remember we were checking overall group penetration for vTrials runs in our formal guild, and I can say that even without NMG we were fine (since I was the only one stam player in a group, I didn't use it). If we somehow got several stams, one of us (sometimes me, I have NMG set and weapons) always used it for some group help.

Don't get me wrong, but calling stams "RIP" because of one set change is a lie. You still have penetration bonus from this set.

"Insightful".... Anyways I think Ill just use TFS instead of NMG now on my stamblade. Perhaps Ill even go 2h for a while, with the new buff. That way I can enjoy the aoe damage with a minor/insignificant cost to single target damage.

rip stam is only because mag users will benefit two sets, and the buff of damage to sunderflame sounds nice enough also because there's not many sources of minor fracture. And NMG, the group could drop now the taunt which granted major fracture or the elemental drain.

somewhere in the realm of 6k physical pen is being lost for all stam dps in a group. Even switching to the Lover won't make up for that.

With the changes to 2H weapons, we're probably about to revert to Elder Staves Online for a while until there's incentive given to go stam insteaf of mag which has better ranged damage capabilities*, better sustain via Eledrain, and better damage mitigation.


*magplar, magDK, and magden obviously all still need their own buffs because honestly they still kinda suck for dps

No really, just swap those out for MA, throw more CP into Piercing and everything will be fine. Yeah, staff builds will likely be the big craze for a while, mag-only players will be insufferable a-holes who still can't handle trash mobs and we won't be seeing raids going over the pen cap, but hey, that's how it was when I started playing. It'll be like old times.

NMG will be outstanding for VMA on stam sorc and stamplar. Might even be really good in pvp. But yes for trials it’s now worthless.
