ZOS please increase item stack size!

b4 max stack used to be 100 then people came here asking to be 200 now its 200 and you want it to be 1000 after 1000 u will want it to be 10k you know what? stacks are good and the only thing that needs to be increased its transmutation crystals stack...100 for non eso+ and 200 for eso+ its clearly wasted since u cannot bank them and u get stuck with geodes once you have no use for them....and even after summerset it will take a while until we will change traits for all the jewellery.

true, but jewelry crafting is coming.. and it took ten times more material to craft them... hard to imagine how much space/bank space that will take...

very true.. there are like 300+ different crafting material.. furniture, potion.. food. equipment set... inventory is really a big problem here, even if you have eso+...

true, but jewelry crafting is coming.. and it took ten times more material to craft them... hard to imagine how much space/bank space that will take...

yes and i didn't considered it a hinder b4 when there was no craft bags and now cuz craft bags i can just get unlimited number.

even with eso+ it is still far from enough. don't you have several stack of potion in your bag? or repair kit.. well i do, and i don't have any crafting material in my bag.

Is it simple to change a number from 200 to 1000, or 2000, or 1,000,000? Yes.

Can the servers handle that change? That's the actual question. If the answer was yes, don't you think we'd have larger inventory capabilities, or more housing item slots, or more than 500 people per guild, or the ability to list more than 30 items per guild store, or, or, or.......?

My point is what seems "simple" often isn't quite so simple.

Transmute is deliberately kept low as it's not intended to be a complete gear swap mechanic but rather an RNG pain alleviation.

two things..

fist, integer are 2/4 byte and can store value from -32,768 to 32,767(2 byte)or -2,147,483,648 to 2,147,483,647(4byte). one byte is 8 bit, store max binary value of 1111111, which translate to -128 to 127 (since zero count as 1). most of the item now have 200 stuck, so there is no way they are using a single byte to store this value.

second, it is not hard to switch from integer to double. at least not in java and c+. it is not like change from int to string, even then all it need is one or two more line for conversation purpose.

p.s. increase max stack size isn't hard, and increase max stuck size will make new player more welcoming to the game. thus more population, most of the people i know(including myself) have inventory manage issue. it also reduce pressure on sever side, since they no longer need to make new stack quite often. which happen very often when you are refining crafting material.

You're missing the point. If stacks are increased then those things will take less space in your inventory and you can fill the remaining slots with materials so you won't need the crafting bag and therefore won't subscribe.

That at least is the theory, I assume, although in practice I doubt it would make a significant difference. However, why the OP needs to carry around several stacks of 200 potions and repair kits rather than putting some of them in the bank or storage chests is beyond me, as is his claim that new players are put off because they can't manage their inventory sufficiently to be able to carry several stacks of 200 potions and repair kits etc - how many new players have that level of stock?

hmm? in my meager programming education that I just got through a google search, unsigned int has a value range from 0 to 65535 if 2 bytes or 0 to 4,294,967,295 if 4 bytes, while unsigned char is a value range from 0 to 255 (with a storage size of 1 byte).

I don't see how this matters though in terms of "work required". It may take up a tiny tiny bit more harddisk space on zos servers and a tiny tiny bit more cpu power and bandwith. But that's it. The number of stacks would probably be another matter; say if you could have 400 stacks inventory (the number of stacks, not the stack size itself mind you) instead of just 200, or 1000 guild stacks instead of only 500. That probably would mean something.

I've got like crown store items in my bank that aren't stacking... they are the same items but wont stack...

Then get one build for dps, one for tank and one for healing/support. Maybe one more for speed / sneak setup for thieving / burning through quests, farming mats etc.

Now delete or sell every single other item you have.

You are now rich and have too much space.

Enjoy.

As a new character i cannot do that.. bag and bank space is far out of what i have to spend. and selling everything would ruin crafting and decon..

I was being Sarcastic. Sorry I am British.

There is a reason why everyone I know calls this game Inventory Management Online, you can literally spend half your game time managing items especially if you do not have ESO PLUS and spend loads of gold/crowns on increasing storage and if you are a crafter....without the bag....you so *******.

You can forget about collecting different sets for later use too....it sucks...fast...the whole system is designed to be restrictive to pressure players into spending crowns on increasing storage caps fastest way possible.

15 chars 200 slots each
bank 480 slots
3 house storage 60 slots each
3 house storage 30 slots each
alt account for non bound stuff, stuff for sale and similar
Still need quite a few more slots since I play all classes and have setups for all roles.

For tanking you need multiple sets with different traits, depending on content you do ( PvP, PvE main/off tank etc)
For damage dealer you need multiple sets with different traits ( PvP can use impenetrable, infused, well fitted, strudy, depending on class and size of group, aka yolo solo, 2vX, 4vX, XvX)
For healing you need various sets in different traits ( PvP, PvE, dungeons, trials, warden/sorc healing, also mDK healing from next patch)
Monster sets in different traits and weights
Weapons for many of these sets in different traits
Siege equipment if you PvP
Food/Drink?potions/Poisons for all these activities
Spare houses for housing items you wanna save but cant use in main residence due to not fitting the theme/lack of slots
ETC.

More stacks would solve issues with stackable items such are food/drink/pots/poisons/recipes etc
Siege bag would solve issues with PvP siege weapons
Mannequins would solve issue with multiple armor sets and fast swap between them for PvE/PvP.
Craftable bags for increasing char carry slots ( up to 50 per char) would solve some of issues when you grind for XP and so on.
More character slots would solve a lot of these issues at once.


All of these can be part of ESO+, or sold as commodity in crown store. So, Zos would profit as well.
