Game Crashes - Please Help

I tried to submit a ticket for this but could not login to Support, so I am posting here.

My game has been crashing since yesterday. The screen goes blank, the music still plays, but the computer does not respond to keyboard commands to return to the desktop or close the game (eg CTR ALT DEL).There is no mouse cursor. The problem can occur any time after I enter my password on the game's login screen. Sometimes I am able to get to the character select screen or enter the game, but not play for long before the crash. This happens on multiple characters. I have tried repairing the game, disabling all add-ons, restarting the router, and disabling other start-up programs. I tried to start the game in Windows Safe-Mode but received an error message: "Critical Error (directx) Your DirectX version is unsupported." I am running Windows System 7 and will be happy to provide additional details upon request. Any suggestions from ESO tech support would be greatly appreciated.

If you ever have an issue logging into the support portal, you can start a ticket by following the steps here.

As for the game crashing, your DirectX may be out of date.

You can find instructions on downloading and installing the latest version of DirectX here.
