Why shields are flying?

Same goes for some belts, shoulders, and weapons too.2 -
VaxtinTheWolf✭✭✭✭✭Every item is set for the armor style they belong to. Even then, some items (like shoulders) can be a little floaty. Armor isn't set on the body either, It's like attached to the skin or something.

It's not a bug, it's sloppy design. The reason is that some other shields are modelled differently and sits closer to the hand, so in those the hand would protrude through the shields which would be worse. Of course this could all be fixed by adjusting the shield position for just these shield types that you posted picture of. But that would require extra work from devs, which is why I said it is sloppy design. They probably have higher priorities, like creating new limited sale house and mount items....Edited by Jayman1000 on April 14, 2018 9:23AM1 -

✭Weight slider means you can have different sizes of bodies, so to avoid clipping they float a bit instead.

Dolnor✭✭✭Look at most armor & accessories. They are not connected directly to your character. They "float" near your body unless it is a worn item. It has been this way from the beginning.

✭✭✭Tbf, that axe should be slipping through his hand too. Almost every single item in the game has some sort of issue when it comes to this. From armour or weapons clipping, to huge spaces between the item and the toon's body.0 -

They should have an simple grip so it did not look so stupid.
Grinding just make you go in circles.

This. And there are similar issues with some of the other equipment types once you start mixing up character models and crafting styles. [E.g. using Mazzatun can turn most of your belt invisible - save for the buckle.]
And while this shouldn't necessarily be "top priority" - given how many other things ought to be fixed or reworked in the game - many of these "other things" aren't being worked on either, one, and two, having certain very visible character costume errors persist for years is just a bad, bad sign of how the development team is managed...0
