?Question on outfits and changing gear?

So normally i have sword and board and bow backbar. But sometimes i like to go 2hand sword and bow. My outfit is setup to have the sword n board, and when i swap to the 2 hander its the ugly red thing. If i change that in the outfitter station i assume my shield and sword will turn into ugly red things. Is this something that would be fixed with the extra slots? I hate to spend crowns on that as i think its a bit too high, but i'm wondering if this is the rationale as you can change outfits for when you swap gear.

anyway does anyone know if this is how it works?

You can change your two hander and your sword and shield will keep their design. You can have every type of weapon in the outfit on both bars. The only limitation is that if you setup a sword and shield you can't have for example an axe for dual-wield. It will overwrite you main hand sword.
