I was doing VHRC with 1 of my guilds, and while looting a welwa I came across a Potent Nirncrux. Now wait a minute... I know that Nirncrux may be acquired anywhere in Craglorn, and from harvesting nodes... But, since when could Nirncrux drop from the corpses of NPC’s? Let alone in a trial?

They're leather-dropping Craglorn mobs, technically, and therefore can drop cruxes.

Nirncrux drop from welwa and a few other npc in craglorn. I think crocodile is another one, cant remember them all

Welwa's have had a small chance to drop Nirncrux for a long time, i don't think it matters where they spawn, it's in their base loot table.

I think this is coming from the fact they give clothing ressources and hence are resource nod of some kind

Nirncrux can be looted from NPCs, ores, clothing nodes, or rune stones within Craglorn.

It used to only be in Northern Craglorn. Also, you can’t loot nirncrux from alchemical nodes.

The Craglorn trials are technically in Craglorn. You can get Ra Gada motifs from the chests too.

any cloth wood ore node that much is true

I have never had one from an alchemy or enchanting node nor from a leathery mob.

Not saying its impossible just from my own experience.

I'm guessing any 'leathery' enemy located in Craglorn have a tiny chance of dropping crux. I pulled one from a minotaur in Falkreath once.

Some of first crux drops were from Welwas. Back when picking flower in Craglorn was dangerous.

Welwa are mobs, not any NPC. They fail the "C" requirement...
