Gold Edition - worth ?

Hi,

I currently have the game on steam, which is a PAIN IN MY NECK and I never should have done that and I want AWAY from it even if I have to start a new character. I'm contemplating buying the Gold edition off amazon. I'm mostly a solo PVE player, and am not ready to take a subscription so as not to fell the pressure to play because the money-clock is ticking.

So. Gold Edition for 27 euros : worth ?

It less than what I paid per DLC when they came out. If you're willing to risk starting a new account to get off Steam, Gold edition is pretty good value. But like the poster above me, look for best deal.

There's also a "Complete Edition" or something like that on sale on the ESO Store right now which includes Summerset, Morrowind, and the DLC that comes with the Gold Edition. If you want to get as much "Stuff" as you can? That'd be the best bet.

I was very happy with the gold edition. I love my palomino pony. You might be able to get it even cheaper if you shop around.

@Itacira I personally find the subscription worth it but I'm a crafter and a farmer so I like to pick all the nodes I see. I don't sell them but save them for when I need them (like this event, lol). Craft bag is too handy to play without.

That said, for awhile I didn't want to subscribe because spending a monthly price on it made me feel like I had to play (instead of perhaps enjoying other hobbies that month) so I don't push people to sub if they don't want to. I find it worth it, but everyone is different.

I still got the gold edition when i got my second account (first account was linked to my husband's steam and since I couldn't unlink it, I just got my own). I don't regret it. If you don't want to pay the higher price for the everything version, I'd say gold is a good place to start.

Regardless of how cheap/expensive it is, it's his/her business whether he/she wants to pay it or not. OP doesn't want to pay for something that they do casually. Why spend money and feel forced to play otherwise you're wasting money.

Makes sense to me anyway. Guess some people have too much money to realize the value of it.

@Demra : you can't buy cheaper DLC or chapters on other platforms/stores and redeem the codes. You're forced to go through steam forever and ever. I first tried buying summerset through the TESO store and nope, has to go through steam. In that case, it didn't make much difference, but for example I couldn't buy the Gold Edition and apply it to my existing account. Urgh !

I also read people complaining about how unsubscribing from ESO+ is a pain but I wouldn't know.

@heaven13 I don't criticize people who get Eso+ (who am I to judge anyway) ! It's just exactly as you said, I'd rather not have the additional impulse to play my money's worth. I'm glad you understand ! MMO are already time consuming enough as is.

Nothing with steam itself. ESO just has a lot of problems when it comes to steam. I dont have issues with other games on steam.

Gold Edition comes only with THE ESO COLLECTION, i do believe, or just buy through crown store in-game.

I actually don't have a problem ? I just wanna know if the gold edition - if the four DLC in it - only four in a list of I don't know how many more - are worth the trouble. That, and only that, was the question. I explained that I did not care for ESO+ only so that people would know that "don't buy Gold Edition, just take ESO+" didn't fit me.

I definitely did not intend for that to be an opportunity to meet the darker eyeroll-worthy holier-than-though side of the playerbase which I've been avoiding like the plague it is.

I take back my recriminations against steam, I could link the Gold Edition to my steam edition of TESO. Don't know why I read on forums that it wasn't possible, maybe it's a new thing ? Anyway, it's a good one !

Those two clauses aren't necessarily related to one another in any respect. :P

And, yeah, some people really dislike subscription fees. It's not a financial thing, it's just an aversion to the business model entirely.

Personally, I think the subscription model is a really good deal, in money for value, especially with Morrowind coming over to ESO+, but I'd (almost) never say you need to sub.

Speaking of which, is the everything collection just digital, or is there also a physical copy coming? I want to get it for my girlfriend as a late one-year anniversary gift, but she likes having physical copies. I would love to get her the everything edition so she can have Morrowind and Summerset, but if the everything edition is only digital, then I'll probably have to settle for the Gold Edition.

The gold edition contains:
Imperial City
Orsinium
Thieves Guild
Dark Brotherhood
Palomino horse mount

In my opinion it's definitely worth buying the gold edition, due to the fact it contains the bigger DLC's. If your not planning on subbing but wanna play the DLC's it's a good deal. Afterall it's cheaper than buying them with crowns.

There are a few other DLCs in the game like shadow of the hist, horns of the reach and dragon bones all dungeon DLCs. And there is clockwork city a story based DLC with the Asylum Santorum trial.

I bought the gold edition myself when I first started playing the game. Cause for 10€ extra I got extra content and even I have eso+ now I don't regret it.
