As a new player I find these forums hilarious.

I've played mmos for a long time. My first was lotro when it launched 11 years ago. I have played almost every mmo since and recently started ESO.

Coming to these forums I must admit is some serious entertainment while at work.

Between people crying about an old Xpac/chapter being discounted, how ESO is P2W or wanting their $0.50 back because of downtime I have to say as a new player the "forum community is pretty toxic. I thought the swtor forums were fun but so far in my short time here the crying going on here is giving swtor a run for their money.

Keep it up haha it helps the work day.

On a side note because of all the crying over Morrowind being added to the sub and how Summerset is P2W I went ahead and preordered.

Thanks to all the complainers because of your threads I got alot of good info from all the non complainers correcting you.

*Disclaimer * yes my account was created during the Xbox beta period. I recently just started playing non beta eso on the xbox.

I don't know. The destiny forums are pretty damn toxic. I've actually enjoyed these forums because the level of nastiness is nowhere near what the Destiny forums are.

Oh I didn't mention the destiny forums because they are in a league of their own. No game I have ever been a part of is even close to them. I can't believe they have allowed their forums to get that way.

Yeah, the ESO forums are the perfect balance between toxic and peaceful, leaving us with free, hilarious, passive agressive drama.

Also, today is a unsheduled( well, it was announced yesterday) Maintenance, a Maintenance that needs longer then most regular Maintenances. Gaming is a Addiction, i need my Daily Fix, its 4.10 pm at my End. I commented on a multitude of Topics today, the Forums can be quite okish but on maintenance days, its a madhouse. There is one Thread about the Hamster Theory, you could not make it up. Hopefully we read a lot more of you.

Super toxic at times, but highly moderated so people can't get too toxic, or at least have to mask their toxicity. It's a good mix to make work breeze by.

I played the Beta, but didn't actually play ESO after release until fall 2017.
Should I be called a Vet or a New(ish) Player?

Look at it this way. The devs and people like gina give so much more information than any other mmo team, it creates the whiny type of forums. but really its because the eso team is awesome

the only reason swtor forums are not more toxic that they already are is becasue you have to be a subscriber to post on them, but you don't have to be subscriber to ESO.

that said... WoW forums. youch /shudder

all things considered, these forums can get... interesting, but its not too bad at all :P

I would argue that. ZOS has stepped up the last year (and I really appreciate it) but they're still not the top in terms of communication.
I've yet to see anyone do better than CCP who have their devs actively discuss and debate mechanics changes with players on forums and twitter.

Although the difference there is CCP has a much smaller player base and is owns itself, meaning they make their own rules and are less slaves to marketing and corporate culture.
