We have another maintenance. 3rd one this week and I am for one happy to see it. Last patch has broken something, which happens with technology. Lots of people were unable o log in, getting stuck on character load, having poor performance, lag in cyrodiil, ping spikes etc etc. And lots of those people have made their feelings known on the fortums. So what does ZOS do? They get on it! They take servers offline to investigate the problem and fix it. How do you test if it's been fixed? Well you have to get the servers back online and let let's say half a million players test it. Still broken? ZOS is listening to your feedback and has tried to fix it again and again with the enormous player base testing it in between. Would you call that bad customer service? No. It's the complete opposite.

ZOS is listening to your feedback and Gina is doing an amazing job of commicating with us. All those people working on fixing the issue? They are real people too and you're saying some really hurtful stuff.

I for one welcome as many maintenances as it takes. Imagine they just left it till next Monday? So many players are having problems just accessing the game right now. Imagine how bad it would get over the weekend?! Would you rather wait on loading screen till next Monday or have a few hours of downtime, so that you can play all weekend at prime time?

Well so far as Gina said they've fixed everything their end. Right now, it's down to the company that owns the server. Today's maintenance is database-related, which imo should've been done ASAP, unless it's something non-important.

Idc how many maintenances it takes. If it get fixed then it's worth it in the long-run. People just are self-entitled wannabe braggarts.
Difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 9 years. 6 paid expansions. 25 DLCs. 41 game changing updates including A Realm Reborn-tier overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver&Gold as a "you think you do but you don't"-tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game.

That they need 3 maints a week to fix something they broke themself with their last Patch is nothing to be happy about. It only shows the Level of skill they have in repairing their own product. Also, an „we know and are on it“ & „Thank you for your patience“ is far from being transparent or good costumer service. But yes , if we are optimistic and nitpicking it’s great that they try to fix it. Depends on were you set the bar.

E: also there is no garantuee that they work it out this Time. Plus not everybody has the same spare time as you, some people can only play in the morning and have no time in the evening or at the weekend.

They've extended the event for those entitled peeps with FOMO and are clearly experiencing technical difficulties. Considering we are talking a game, that we pay peanuts for in terms of support budget they are doing ok.

It's not about opening your eyes etc etc or blowing smoke its about perspective.

Hate to disagree, but I do.

Communication has not been great - actually, we’ve been told that everything was fine several times, usually just before they pull the servers down again. That’s a real shame, because usually communication is better than this. If communication to my clients in my business was this poor, I’d be in real trouble. In time of trouble, you step it up, you don’t run and hide!

Server stability does of course need to be sorted out and if maintenance time fixes that, I welcome it. I don’t welcome several unscheduled maintenance (= quick fixes and restarts). The game has been going a long time now, and server stability has been a growing issue. I’d like a proper fix, and proper comms about what’s going on. After all, I’m (part!) funding all this!

Yeah. Maybe if I could please ask one of the moderators to close this thread? I was just gonna point out that we should maybe be a bit more understanding to the people working on the other end, but it just turned into another bashing fest.

And for clarification I don't see ZOS as gods. There is a lot of stuff I disagree with (like the jewelry crafting system being a grind fest amongst other things). All I wanted to point out is that we are a community and people working on the server issues are human too and I think they deserve some respect and a bit of understanding from us.

By no means I am happy to see the maintenance always falling on my days off or when I'm free (since I work very long hours and all weekends) but I'm glad they are trying to sort this out before the weekend, so that even if it's a couple of hours I can actually log in and play when most people play instead of roaming empty Tamriel.

How about a comment from them about the coldharbor bug that let NA PC folks buy the coldharbor house for 1 crown for an hour...

...right - they haven't responded about that yet. She is totally on top of communicating things. It's easier when they just delete discussions about them I reckon.

As someone who can't play every night i think its garbage honestly no other game i've ever played has treated customers this poorly.. And to praise them for extending the event a week will be pointless if we are yet to receive another three or four days of maintenance next week...

Yes when you have nothing to do during the day you can have a lot of patience. But when you have a job with limited hours to play, and exspecially in the morning, your patience becomes anger. We have at least one morning a week that you can't play (cause muricans have the right to play always so they do maintenance during murican night time), plus you throw out a patch without testing it (or bad testing it) and have a downtime 5 times in 2 weeks?? Major games have european maintenance and american maintenance. Smart thing.

When they say "Thanks for your understanding and patience". I understand that broken patches simply mean that someone, usually a group, messed something up. And they're paid for it. We as a playerbase become the "testers". Patience is a group of players who understand, often times, simply that we can't do anything about it no matter how much we'd like to. Life moves on.

Sure it doesn’t help to be angry about not being able to use the product I payed for. But there is absolutely no reason to praise ZOS or to ignore the issues.
These issues are ongoing for too long. I don’t want any compensations. I want that this game works.
