So *Spoilers* is still alive somewhere?

So this has probably already been talked about, but I was doing the Orsinium MQ I found a letter in the Malacath Temple in Orsinium. It was right next to Sharp Arrow, when you're delivering letters to allies. It reads:

"I'm trying to reach you. Yes, you. This is harder then you can imagine, writing words to paper that doesn't exist White light. There's white light all around me. Am I alive? Am I dreaming? Are these the Colored Rooms? Help me. I want to come home. Please. Darien"

So for those who forgot, Darien is a character thats part of the Daggerfall Covenant MQ. You meet him a few times, brash, cocky etc He comes with you at the end of the Coldharbour MQ but doesn't make it back after the final battle, assumed he was killed. But now this letter. As far as I know this is the only reference to Darien outside the Vanilla game? I assume this means he will appear in a DLC

If there would ever be a DLC (chapter, whatever) with a questline that's about bringing back Darien I'd buy it in a heartbeat !
Always loved that guy. Just as much as I love Raz, and that's saying a lot. (And being Covenant I knew Darien first, so he's even a little bit more special.)

Even during the main quest I got the impression that Darien wasn't just dead, but had gone somewhere else, and I hated back then that I couldn't go looking for a way to bring him back (or at least help others do it). Finally being able to do that would be awesome.

I didn't do much in Orsinium so far (despite having owned it since before Morrowing came out), so I haven't found that book yet. Now I feel even worse about not charging to the rescue ! As much as I love many of ESOs quest stories, some just leave me disappointed, because there's such an obvious "next thing to do", and you just don't get to do it. (And a few are just plain bad, awful writing, but those don't belong here.)

So "yay" for the confirmation that Darien is, indeed, still existent (not sure if "alive" would be a fitting term or not). And "oh darn" for the lack of an opportunity to do something about that.

This is so funny how I happened to find this thread..

So the strangest thing happened as I headed to my next main quest destination in summerset. A golden glowing portal opened up as I'm racing through only having stopped briefly to see what was happening as it was not the typical daedric drop you're used to while traveling through medowed fields.

The imagery I suppose you can call it, lasted maybe 30 seconds if that & I heard mention of the dawn breaker and "I'll be ba...!!..." Was last to be said before disappearing. I recognized the voice right away and funny enough I was just talking about missing the character, he was my favorite, wondering if I'll ever find anymore book's or letters or mention of him reaching out (I read everything briefly in hope this is true lol psychotic i know over an NPC lol I got attached don't judge

Anyone else reminded of Rincewind in the Discworld books after he ended up in the Demon Dimensions at the end of Sourcery?

Those appearances are part of the main questline. The Golden Knight is trying to contact you.

For those of you who don't know...


When you finish the main quest from Summerset and are in the palace in Alinor, stop before leaving the palace and listen to the conversation occurring between two guards near the exit.

They direct you to a nice little easter egg upstairs.
