Style convert to Imperial or Morag Tong - Please change back!

Been here since the beginning... Been able to convert my gear to Imperial since Day 1. Got Morrowind CE to be able to convert to Morag Tong. Was nice to be able to convert my gear, then dye my gear the way I liked.

Now, I CANNOT convert my gear, but rather make a "costume"... which is awful shades of green... And I am being CHARGED to color it?!?!

Come on ZOS, I payed the premiums and also have Plus, since the beginning I might add. I may sound like I'm being petty, it costs either a token or in game gold, but it used to be FREE. Talk about bait and switch. :(:(

I am almost certain when you access the station you can either use costume mode or you can use it like the old Dye station. There is also a convert utility in the station to covert gear to Morag or imperial. If you use the old Dye station there is no charge.

I believe the only real change was they took the ability to convert from the standard GUI so you have to be at the Dye station.

Someone please jump in if I am wrong..

Edit: I reread what you said in the quote and realised you were saying the same thing as me in different words. I'll just leave my version here so people can read both:

You can't convert the actual item anymore. You need to use a slot in your outfit, which means you have to pay to dye it. Having the conversions from before let's you change the style for free in the outfit station but not the color.

To the OP, while I understand your point about being charged for dying, there is a silver lining. Once you make your outfit and get the color the way you want it doesn't matter what item you equip in the future, it will still look just like you wanted it to. No trips to the dye station, no re styling the item. Done. Hope this helps!

I miss it too. When you use Outfit System it hides the enchant on weapons when you want the glow you're screwed on that. It also removes the ability to convert an item then deconstruct for the respective style material.

You couldn't convert most dropped sets to Imperial or Morag Tong but at least with the outfit station you can, be it as a outfit.

As someone with zero interest in making a costume, this is just an unwelcome complication for me.

So, I was playing around with this a little more, and am more frustrated and annoyed with it than before. If I want to remove a piece of the costume, there is a charge... If I change from a Morag Tong piece to an Imperial piece, there is a charge to add color to the new piece, even if I want the same color scheme.

I don't care about converting and deconstructing to get the style material.

ZOS, get this right. At least for Imperial and Morag Tong conversions, give us free dye cost and a free costume slot for each style conversion and toon. For example, if I have both styles for converting, give two slots per toon or if just one, give one slot for each toon.

I just feel like I payed for something, and didn't get it.

My question is, if you could "Convert" before, can craft the style on outfits now without learning the motif? After all if all your characters could convert before, they shouldn't have to learn the style to craft the outfit now since it too is bound to the account.

Nope, you still need the Motif in order to craft the items in that style.

The change to costumes is a huge improvement. Costume dying costs are 20k gold. You can make that in less than an hour!

I'm not talking about "Crafting Items"! I'm talking about "Using the Style on Outfits"! Those who paid for the game to get the converter to "Use" the style on their own gear should STILL be able to use the style on their Outfits now. Just sayin'....

So waste a half hour of game time doing nonsense because they decided to break a feature they sold to us?

OK, so now I have to farm gold to pay for dying "costumes" that could be dyed for free before. Or I could use real money to buy tokens to pay for it. Sounds fair.

I don't have unlimited time to play the game. I would rather use the gold to save up for something like player housing. I also like to change color schemes on my armors, so it doesn't get boring. Also, being able to convert the armor or weapon was nice to keep a cohesive look when not all of the pieces of the motif has been learned.

It's almost like leasing a 4x4 truck. At first, one can use the 4-wheel drive anytime. Then about halfway through the lease, one has to watch an hour of commercials or pay $10 every time 4-wheel drive is engaged.

Yes, Ive just come back for Summerset - started a new character - and come to find that my old standby for new characters, converting to Imperial, or now Morag, and then coloring them up with dyes so they don't look so entirely fresh out of the gate - is gone.

Why in the world would they remove this?? Free style conversion needs to be re-instated the way it was, in addition to allowing them to be used in outfits.

What was a free process (conversion then dying), as a result of the packs we *paid* for and the way the conversion worked, no longer is.

If its an oversight, fine, fix it - if it was intentional, then thats just underhanded. It may seem like a small thing to some, but not to me.

i miss that as well - it was a paid for feature and is taken away from us by no good reasons. I want to convert to an actual imperial item, not a fake one in the outfit station. And why do I have to go to the outfit station at all?- right click, convert to imperial - done - that is what was sold and I want it be reversed to that.
