Whispering and keeping relationships are not a strong point in this game...

Seriously, how can u easily keep track of what everyone whispers u?
How can u see the diff of anything wrote to u, when so many things are showed in the chat window?
Why do whispering cannot be treated as mails? Or at least have separated process from chat window...
Why do we have to friend someone/anyone, in order to be possible to write/whisper him/her after a quick relog?
Why do whispering must be so kinda complicated? For a huge mmo, this isn't player friendly.
Why do we can only have 100 friends? Editing friends notes is definitely not ergonomic, too.

You know, you can create your own custom chat tabs. Set one up specifically for whispers, so you don't get any of the other chat spam in that window. That's what I've done.

i haven't changed anything from default on chat window and whispers still present in a different colour to everything else.

The easiest solution is to disable zone chat, there's nothing worthwhile in it.

On top of those things, you can whisper anyone you want, as long as you know their @name or the specific character they're online with at that moment. Just type "/w @name" or "/w character name" and as soon as you hit enter after that, it will be just like whispering someone by rightclicking their names on your friendslist/guild roster.

The only thing I don’t like about the game and if this is an option let me know ... PS4 it doesn’t let you know when a friend logs in or outdo you never know unless you manually check

I mean, why else would you privately whisper someone in game?

First of all, we never know what is the sex of the player on the other side, i also have 3 female chars...
Second, whisper is a try to talk directly with someone, regardless of having or not gf/bf. If having multiple nAA/nHRC/nSO recruitements in the same channel, why would u prompt ur desired +dd/+heal/+tank in the middle, if not meaning to target a specific grp?
Third, i don't like or want to keep secrets, but be able to see and use whispering is important in any very populated area. It might get harder, when the other player's charname has misleading letters/symbols.

Tamriel online messenger can help organize many kinds of chat on a second window. I just use it to see whispers more easily.

@SquareSausage you can go to your friends list on the PSN and have it notify you when they log in to their PSN account. Closest thing you'll get.

Hah you're joking right? Esp during the event my chat is just spammed with log in/out messages. (PC) All those system messages do only go to the default tab though.

To OP, whispers are working just fine. Why tf would we want them to work like mail? We already have that.

Pc maybe ...not on console ... On console you can't even turn off chat channels so only guild or chat is shown

You get every bloody mundane bit of zone chat or nothing at all

Can you actually disable chat on PC? I haven't found a way to make it go away.
