Getting sent to Login Screen and Other Issues

Since April 1, 2018, I have been experiencing strange problems with my game. If my character is walking in the world or in a town, I will often get sent back to a prior point and have to travel the same distance over again. Tonight, April 6th, it has been happening every few seconds and the game is unplayable. The character will eventually lock up, where she will walk around but will not interact with anyone, use a weapon, or pick anything up. When this happens, it is only a matter of time before I get sent back to the login screen with no error message. Sometimes I am able to log back in, but many other times I get a message that I am logged in already. Then the only thing I can do is quit the game and start over. There are also times where I get kicked to the login screen with no other symptoms, warning, or error message.

Other issues include a slowness in conversations or in gathering an item. I will hit the 'E' or 'R' key to interact with another character or item and will wait several seconds for a response. In conversations the other characters lips will have stopped moving before I hear the answer. Then there are time where nothing I do will cause any interaction. That is usually followed by being returned to the login screen... no warning, no error message.

So far, I have tried logging out and back in. I have deleted the game and reloaded it (my game is through Steam and I am an ESO Plus member). I have cleared out temporary storage. I have disabled and enabled my network connection. Nothing seems to work. I am running Windows 10 on an Alienware Area-51,16GB RAM, Intel Core i7 - 5820K CPU @ 3.30GHz, 1.8 TB hard drive storage (80% free), running Windows 10. Let me know if you need any other information to help troubleshoot my problem.

I have the same thing. Had it at moments from the start a year back. but the last days it's been close to unplayable. One hour of playing equals 50 minutes of trying to log in, interact and the same rubber banding, disconnection and dc issues. I never had it this bad as after this weeks 2 fixes in the evening on EU. Been trying to log in for 40 minutes already and been in game for a total of 3 minutes... split over 5 times actually seeing my character. Opened 2 doors and picked up one quest. That's all i managed to do. Extremely annoying, and second evening in a row.

Update. ok add another 30 minutes and counting not being able to get in at all. Keep getting errors. Ok gonna sign this off as 3th evening in a row of unable to play.

I am not on the European PC/MAC Server. I am in the U.S. and on a PC, so I assume I'm on a server here. In any case, I built a new character to see if the problem still exists and it does. Please help.

Same problem here..... i play on NA mega, ultra, archy, lag server,...... I7 7770K, GTX 1080 TI OC, and Fiber Optic...... since the two xp events the game is unplayable !! but hey "is our fault" !! -.-

My issues have dropped off significantly. During 4 hours of playing earlier today (4/12/18) I was only set back once, and not too far. I was also sent to login twice when my character couldn't interact with anything and froze up. But the game is playable and I want to thank all the people who worked to get it going again. Much appreciated.

My problems is still occurring as on 4/13/2018. I know I said the last set of server updates seemed to correct my issues, but it really hasn't. Truthfully, I am not being thrown to the login screen as often. I have identified when it is going to happen. I will be playing along just fine when suddenly I can't interact with people or things. I'll hit the "E" or "R" key and it grays the request notification out, so I know it is recognizing the keystroke. Then I'll wait, but nothing happens and the indicator will turn back bright normal. I'll try hit the "E" or "R" key again, but it just grays out, comes back, and still nothing happens. I keep hitting the key over again, and the cycle will repeat 3 or 4 more times, but some I get sent to the login screen. If I wait about 10 seconds, I can login from there, but if I try to login too quickly, I will get an error message. Usually "account already logged in."

My character getting set back is also still occurring. Sometimes it happens every two minutes or so, and sometimes I can play for almost 5 minutes before my character gets set back. While this is annoying, it really only means I have to re-travel part of the land over again. It is not stopping me from playing the game. Still I would like it fixed.

If there are not others complaining of similar problems, is it possible that my account has been corrupted? If so, what are my options? Because right now I am spending as much lime logging back in and traveling over ground I have already traveled once as I am playing the game. Please help.

It’s not you, it’s the game. Disconnects and lag outs have become more common since the last patch, but ZOS has not acknowledged or offered solutions beyond blaming everything else but their game. Good luck.

Happening to a lot of folks on all platforms EU & NA yet ZoS haven't acknowledged it at all.

I am pretty sure that this is the game, too. It happens to me about once per day, more if I am playing a lot more than normal.

My conclusion: The game client and the server are not talking, for what ever reason. They are still communicating, but they are not talking. This is not like a service interruption where they are cut off from each other. Some part of the game realizes that the server is still there, just not responding.

Yesterday, I had this happen, and for the first time, they reconnected and started talking. That was different. Normally, I just stand and wait for the game to log me out, but then all of a sudden the NPCs started moving again. It took somewhere around 15 seconds for that to happen.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm glad to know it is not me or my character. Like some of the others, I'm playing more regularly and these interruptions are a real pain. I am a PC, ESO Plus through Steam, member and if this persists, I may have no choice but to cancel my subscription.

This is my last comment on this bug report. 3 days ago, I switched from a wired Ethernet connection on my computer to my house Wi-Fi. I had been using the wired connection because I just didn't feel like taking the time to configure the Wi-Fi. I made the change because of all the trouble I was having with the ESO game. And wouldn't you know it, the trouble stopped. Whether it was the result of what I did, or of something Zos did, I guess I'll never know.

I had also started to experience the issues on the PTS server and that was when I figured the problems were most likely mine. After I changed to the Wi-Fi connection, it stopped happening on the PTS server and when I switched back to the NA server, it had stopped there too. It has been three days with no reoccurrence of the above stated problems, so I now consider them resolved... at least for me. Thank you all for your assistance and feedback.

I am having the same issue particularly since PTS went live. I get three of four random disconnects a day now, doesnt seem to matter what I am doing. I am playing the game then I get *eso has stopped working* and have to relog. Its so annoying particularly when you are eso + and paying for this.

I have not seen a client crash ("stopped working") in quite a while, Live or PTS. I still get the "you haven't seen the login screen enough today" situation where it just suddenly takes me back to the login screen. Then it has the nerve to tell me that I can't log in because I am already logged in. On Live and PTS, both.

For what it's worth the same thing has been happening to me. Character can't interact with anything although it walks around, but eventually i get disconnected with no error message back to the login screen. This happens with every character about 5 minutes or so into the game, but I've realized it happens most on weekend afternoons. I end up disconnecting modem as I read that capturing a new IP address could help, and sometimes it does but not every time. So I keep logging in after turning off computer each time, hoping that one time it will stick. I can't join pvp or trials because i'm afraid of disconnecting in the middle of it all. Have not seen any other suggestions to resolve this most aggravating issue.
