I made Emperor...

Three days playing non stop. #1 spot (after the former #1 Emperor vetted out).

All the keeps were captured...

And thanks to a glitch I didn't get Emperor.

Screen_edit.png

So I contacted Customer Service and the response is. To bad however if I have any other issues let them know. Happy 4 year anniversary ESO.

tl;dr

No lifing to become Emperor doesn't pay.

Now as an aside while it is not your job to convince us to play @ZOS_GinaBruno care to offer any words of encouragement?

You have to be #1, and your alliance cannot already have emperor, when the last inner keep is captured. You can't just magically become emperor when your alliance already has it and the top person drops or otherwise leaves the campaign.

You have to lose all the emp keeps, before you can re-emp. This was done to discourage emp trading.

Ya, so 1st Emp has to actually get dethroned by losing the inner ring, than you have to retake it.

Clearly in the picture there is no Emperor so I've got no idea what you're trying to explain here but okay.

    @Erelah
Grats, sometimes if that doesn't work depending on what your home connection keep is e.g DC = Dragonclaw, AD = Brindle, EP = Drakelowe; You may sometimes need to get them. I had that happen to me where we got all 6 but because we didn't have Dclaw or Brindle (assuming you needed one) after capping Dclaw it declared "Maxwell has been crowned the emperor of Daggerfall Covenant" all over the screen.

I do wanna say 3 days of no stop playing and only at 700k AP is pretty low, gotta work on those AP gains yo ;) Those delves do wonders!

The alliance didn't have an Emperor at first. We spent a good 12 hours that day capturing all the keeps. The morning started with two (and no Emperor). Blue Road's Keep and Chalman. around 1am it ended with all the keeps captured (and all the elder scrolls).

@MaxwellC I had only learned about that during the final push (when the last two keeps were needed). I was wondering how the EP before me had gotten so much more. That is an amazing best kept secret. We had all the home keeps. All the elder scrolls, It was the ghost emperor. It was a lot of fun however and the players on the server are fantastic. They really rallied together.

When the Emp vets out or leaves the campaign, the screen will show no emperor, but that's not the same thing as your alliance losing Emp. Your faction still has to lose all 6 keeps, then retake them before a new Emp can be crowned. It has always been that way, and many would-be Emp traders have gotten screwed over by that.

Sounds like they may have never lost Chal/BRK after the 1st emp abdicated?

We had them all. The map was a sea of red. It was awesome! (Dragonclaw and Drakelowe not being DC Brindle wasn't home for us though we captured it as well, to divert the AD from inner).

Some of my former guilds held emp a *lot* and I've never heard anything like this or anyone suggesting to cap one of the outlying keeps to prevent an emp from being crowned....

We had that happen to us on console before where we capped the entire imperial keeps but didn't have a connection to them so when we capped Dclaw I was crowned Emperor. Not sure if things changed over time but this happened pretty seldom back in Haderus campaign.

What do you think is more likely: the game glitched AND the former emperor you're talking to is wrong about how emperor works -OR- you're misunderstanding how emperor works?

Your alliance had emperor. You lost it when the guy vetted out. Now your alliance cannot get it again until ALL keeps are lost. You say you still had 2 keeps, and that's your problem. Your alliance was never properly fully dethroned.

That seems really dodgy, I get that it was to stop emp flipping, but even still. couldn't they make it half keeps or something? Even if you have all keeps and the prior emp is gone, you have to "dethrone." the prior emp by losing all of them. Thats pretty suckish honestly.

How could you get emp when emp was never actually lost? I realize it's frustrating, but it makes perfect sense.

I have never, in all my years playing cryo, heard of some poppycock about needing anything other than the inner circle for emp.

It kinda has to work that way, otherwise a stream of players could just all leave the campaign one after the other and crown an insane number of emps while one faction holds all the keeps.

That is why I said something like half keeps lost, because then its hard to recover and flip the emp, but doesn't require whole loss. And emp flipping like that was a thing in the past. That's why they had to remove post emp skill line, since so many had it.

I do not t bag. I play for fun and the fun is the game play chatting with others. Try to humiliate someone after a battle is just juvenile and a little sad. Mainly I was part of the prepping team. Shooting keeps to draw attention before rejoining the main group.

My largest regret was as Emperor I would have declared free ice cream for all. I was waiting to make that announcement.

You don't need a title to know you made emperor. :)

The throne, dye and outfit is awesome. You wont get the Elder Scroll furnishing though, thats only for Grand Overlords. But the most fun is the added stats and playing as emperor. Over to your concern. No, its not a bug. It works exactly as intended. When a emp abdicate (leave the Campaign) the number 2 on the list dont get emperor. You have to loose all your inner circle keeps and retake them.

Anyway they have played long enough to know you couldn't get emp til you lost the inner ring of keeps.

Seems like the former emp who abandoned campaign wasn't dethroned before taking the rest of the emp keeps. I'm certain you'll have to lose all 6 then gain them again so you can become emp.

Words of encouragement: dont be stupid.

You explained in your own words why you didn't get Emp.
    Everyone here pointed it out.

In fairness it it an oversight in how low lvl emp works, but it is mostly irrelevant to bother changing it.
