Sometimes on Pc when I launch the game I have no sound

I have tried to find some fixes but haven't really found anything. Anyone have a suggestion? I'm running the repair option now but I think I did this once before to no avail. It seems it takes a few Pc restarts to finally get the sound. There's gotta be something tho.

Anyone have a suggestion? It's really wearing On me a bit and killing my gusto to play.

I had have had some weird UI issues, including no sound a while back. Have not had them in a while and they went away after I updated some addons. Unfortunately, I had to wait to update the addons as it was right after a patch. But for the past month or two it has been fine.

So, the question is, have you tried updating the addons?

Finally, long shot, but do you have some program that sets your machine to use say the Headset as the default device for you? I don't know if those exist, but I would like one myself that detects when I turn on my headset and does this.

I actually haven't used any add ons yet. I just been trying to play and get into the groove here but then that gets stifled when I go to fire it up and no sound and not even a reboot of my Pc seems to fix it at times.

It's weird because no other game does this, just eso.

And negative on the headset thing although that definitely made me think for a second, but yea everything else fires without a hitch.

Have you examined the options for ESC > Audio? They are available from the game log-in screen, on which you enter the Player Name and the Password for the account.

Since you're using a PC, I assume that it runs Windows as the operating system. I suggest that you take a look at Control Panel > Sound to be sure that the output is configured correctly. Also examine Control Panel > Device Manager > Sound to see whether all devices are working. You might need to update your sound system drivers.

If the NVidia HDMI audio drivers are installed, then I recommend that you disable or remove them entirely, then reboot the system so that the Microsoft PNP drivers will be installed instead. Beware that if the NVidia installation software is still stored on your computer, it will re-install the NVidia HDMI audio drivers during system boot (so rename the root folder for it).

Regardless, they won't work right on some motherboards, especially older ones. Also, sometimes they interfere with an audio utility program(s) -- which is running either as a service, or as a "start-up" program that remains after the system boot completes. If the utility is required for the audio system, then you must remove the NVidia HDMI audio drivers.

We need help! I have had the same problem just as you describe it, since an update awhile back & we are not the only ones. I have tried various ways of fixing it; like turning the sound off then back on, rebooting everything (computer & game), checking & rechecking my sound settings, doing a repair...etc., etc....and it seems to be random whether any of these efforts work on any given reload. It is rare for me to get sound now. More often than not I am still stuck trying to get sound. Like you, the intro sound comes on but then there is no sound at log-in area or ingame. There is nothing wrong with my top-notch gaming computer & all my other advanced games & music ect. have sound just fine! Please ESO, we love ESO but there are many people struggling to get ingame sound. It is getting very frustrating for me & those i play with. Help us. Please patch the problem.

Did you run a win 10 update recently? It could update your nvidia sound driver.

Press Windows key + X when you are at the desktop screen.
Click on Device Manager

Look for system sound and check if you have more than one sound driver. If there is more than one, disable it!!!!

I personaly use External Sound Card outside my pc, just so i dont have to deal with drivers.

With 64-bit Windows 7 Pro SP1 (fully updated), the default audio device is configured by the user by using Control Panel > Sound.

Currently, I do not have a "sound bar," and the pair of speakers which I previously plugged-in to a port on the computer backplane no longer work. So I configured the default device as the speakers for the Samsung LED TV which I use for video output display.

When I plug my Logitech headset into a USB 2.0 port on the front of the computer, Windows loads the driver for it, and its speaker automatically become the default audio output device. Windows also activates the microphone as an input device. After I unplug the headset, the default audio output device reverts to the Samsung LED TV speakers.

Although I do not currently use Windows 10 Pro, I assume that it will probably work the same way. Of the face of it, there was no reason to change the way it works with Windows 7. Microsoft is not quite so infamous for breaking things that work while developing the next DLC or "Chapter" as the ZOS development team does.
