How is the Cake XP buff working?

I had no time to test it by myself cause I've been on vacations.

Can you use the buff once? Or more than once? Is it just for the event or do we keep it afterwards (the cake)?

You can use it as many times as you wish. And yes, you just won’t get xp bonus..

If you use it just before the expiration date, any remaining time will still give experience you just won't be able to refresh it.

Just once ? I already missed new life festival and It's permanent 20% boost.

I used cake without any meaningful reason for tasting (testing) purposes. I thought chef might feel offended If I don't taste his cake and give my feedback immediately and .... and It wasn't mentioned anywhere It was one time boost only

You can use it during the festival as much as you like. You get a 100% bonus xp every time. If you use it again while the buff is still on it doesn't stack but refreshes the 2 hour duration. After the event is over you get to keep the memento, but it won't buff you anymore, just a visual then. Any buff you still had on you when the event ends stays on you till the 2 hours is over.

All festival xp buff mementos work like this as far as I know.

if you keep refreshing/applying it when you need it... yes.

On all your characters, they can all use the memento at the same time. Many will put the buff on all characters just before logging out the last time before festival end. The buff sticks even if you don't log in half a year on a character with the buff active. Might as well load it up

You get the Jubilee Cake as a Momento. This Momento works like the others, you can activate it and a Cake appears infront of you. Now you can allways activate the Momento, same as you can allways use the actual Cake. This provides a Buff for 100% XP during 2 hours (like other consumables do).
After the Event is done, you can still activate the Momento, you can still use the Cake, but it wont provide any XP Buff to you.

Yes, it does!

The last night of the event log in and eat the cake on all of your characters. It will work when you next login as each for 2 hours.

The hardest part is remembering to eat another piece after two hours.

Get it now to take the max advantage of it. The event ends in 2 weeks.

As long as you use the memento every 2 hours, yep. Same as every other event.

The first year I ate the cake, I thought it was just for one time usage. I never understood why so many people were excited about 2 hours of double xp.

After the event was over, I found out that you could use it every 2 hours.

Are there any daily quests that come along with the event or is it just the cake and chief at the docks?

@jnelson1182 There is a Book besides the Cake which informs you about the Daily Quests that give you an anniversary Box by completing it, but there are no additional quests coming with the event.

Are you sure you didn't actually have the Jester buff from the last event still?

This one won't override the first.

I get the same thing. It show the pie in my active effects even though I use the cake. I have renewed it several times and have plenty of hours on the character so I know it isn't hold over from the last event. It is however working fine so I am not worried about it.

PS4 if that matters.

If that is the case, does that mean I would have to run out that clock to get the experience buff for this event?

Glad I read this thread as I thought the cake was a one time boost. Looks like I will be eating a lot of cake for the next week or so.
