Is the Cake XP actually affecting crafting? Doesn't appear to be working

Having used the Cake XP buff on every character and doing writs on every character (11 characters) , I've noticed I am getting the exact same XP wether I use the cake or not...

...but isn't the Cake XP boost supposed to apply to experience?

Used to give extra insprition boost or so I think but atm I don't think you get extra xp from crafting only normal xp counts.

If you mean experience such as one gained from deconstructing items, then no. That's totally separate from overall character's experience.

The modifiers that affect that particular type of xp are ones found in the CPs (inspiration boost), and ESO Plus (10% higher inspiration gains), and also Orc's racial passive that gives them another 10% crafting xp boost.

It's working for me fine, the Writ XP reward went up as soon as I added the 3rd Anniversary Cake.

Make sure you are using the right cake. You can't reuse the 1st and 2nd Anniversary cakes.

Yes am using the right cake. But can confirm it does affect the inspiration you get or the deconstructing, though I'm pretty sure it did last year.

I'm on PS4 btw, so if it's not working as intended, it might be a PS4 or console thing

Sorry I can't check to verify any further, my alts are gonna be nibbling on the cake for the whole two weeks. They are only logged once a day to run their writs, they are also trying to sip their Ambrosia as well.

For BS with no Event Bonus but with ESO+ and Tower CP you should see 1300/2600/5200/7800/10400/13000/16900/20800/26000/26000 for IP numbers on Level I - X Writs.

EDIT: Copied wrong data from UESP

I never noticed if affecting inspiration. Only regular XP.

1st and 2nd year cakes are adding the same buff as 3rd year...

I must have missed it then, I didn't see a change on the one character that I tried 2nd year on as soon as I logged in. And before I went to Donolon. Maybe that was it, I hadn't actually activated 3rd Jubilee event, and now activated, any cake will do.

Other events I think they even said you didn't have to redo the start quest to reuse the Breda/Witches etc. But then again we still only have one each of those mementos.

AFAIK, the "crafting XP" is called Inspiration and the only way I know of boosting it is from the CP passive.

The cake has been working fine for me to increase my general XP from delivering the writs.

On console, sometimes if you don't stand perfectly still until you see the XP buff on the tracker, it doesn't work. You see all the animations but if you start moving before the buff is applied sometimes it will not actually apply.

I'm confused by the wording here.

Is anybody claiming that the cake buff boosts Inspiration Points? If so, are they correct? :)

No. XP and Inspiration are two different things and the cake does not boost Inspiration.

Experience is not the same as Inspiration. Only Experience is increased by the various boosters. Note, some boosters only work on mob kill experience, not quest experience, writs are quests.

Inspiration is crafting experience and can only be earned by crafting activities. Inspiration does not apply to character or CP leveling.

Now, writs do also give Inspiration, and that can only be boosted by ESO Plus, a CP Passive and I think the Orc.
