• PC/Mac: No maintenance – July 14

I play on Xbox x, but also have a pc with a 1070ti. Is it worth it to switch over?

After years of swearing by it, I quit PC gaming because of all the cheaters, and I won't go back.
I'm sure the game looks better on PC but I have also heard that it runs better on Xbox / playstation.

You sit closer to the monitor, than the tv , it take up more of your view and you can see smaller details, its an reason pc games use far smaller fonts than console games.

i say the only benefit console has in native voice, this would be very nice in pug groups.
And obviously starting over you will loose all guilds and friends and have to start over.

Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

I have it on both. I hook up my PC to my TV. Yes it looks better on my laptop than TV. I also play with the Xbox Elite controller on PC as well. Thing is I play mostly on my Xbox. I don't know, I just enjoy it more on Xbox than PC.

One thing I do miss is some mods on PC. I love having the map on the outside so I don't have to go to Map mode like in Xbox but I sacrifice not having mods. I guess one reason is I like to support games to have on consoles so we can keep getting games on consoles.

There is no master race, just platform of preference.
Not my quote but I love this saying

The game plays much better for me on PC than Xbox it’s not even close for me. I’ve hardly had a crash, yes I do lag at times in Cyrodil and trials but even the lags are better than Xbox normal FPS. The only thing I can’t comment on is the Xbox one X as didn’t have this but can’t imagine it would improve performance enough.

I’d say I’d you can move the do it. The overall experience is so much better and community is growing, on EU at least. When I left Xbox there were a lot of people leaving for either NA or all together with Homestead breaking trials and Morrowind screwing sustain.

Same boat here. Although, I’ve always been familiar with console gaming. I used to prefer PC gaming all the time, and was 1 of those “master race” parrots. Then I grew-up, and I realized that it just wasn’t worth the frustration. Been playing full-time on consoles since.

You could have said you had a Commodore 64 you found in you Dad's basement, and I still would recommend switching.

A 1070ti more than enough for this game, and why anyone would voluntarily play this game on console is frankly beyond me.

It’s it worth it....no (game is overly cash grab but the $79 CE seems to give you what you need other than some small dlc)

Will you enjoy the game more....maybe...lots more options

When Summerset hits it’s believed that the CPU should handle multi cores and be better but maybe the Xbox one x will as well.

I just upgraded my PC but went with a 1060 cause the 1070’s i wanted were sold out or overpriced by $300 but it looks great either way as it’s ultra.

I prefer the Gamepad tho and voice chat when doing group content. Also the Looking for group and Xbox live features far outweigh PC but the pc Xbox app offers a lot of that now so maybe PC is the way to go

No need to swear as there is no strange perception at play. Most 4k tvs handle very poorly when used as a pc monitor. The pixel density accross a 40 plus inch screen is not as sharp as you would experience on your smaller pc display due to the distance you generally view a tv at vs monitor let alone the fact that gsync and 144hz even at 1080p is much better than 4k at what im going to assume is 60hz.

Seriously. I played this game for about 20 minutes one day on a PS4. NEVER again. Graphics were crap, controls were awful, and it's easy to forget that addons are what make a good chunk of this game playable in the first place. I have all three consoles, and I wouldn't play this game on one of them even if you transferred my account and put an extra 0 at the end of my bank account.

Depends on how long you've played on Console and how comfortable you are with the control setup. I played on Xbox for two years when I bought a copy of ESO on steam for cheap and tested it, and I couldn't stand it. Not to mention if you switch platforms you will be starting over from scratch completely, no negotiation.

Well multi-core support is coming and if it ends up helping a lot yes you will get better framerate on PC, with that card you can get 4k native/60fps but again, thats all dependent on the multicore support. I play on a PS4 Pro now but when I played on PC with just a regular 8gb 1070 I got 4k native/60 but a lot of times the game would drop frames to 30 or even less than 30 in crowded places. Its up to you whether or not you want to start over account wise with all collectibles/characters etc. The one other thing to consider is the HDR. HDR is not available on PC when its available on XB1X and PS4 Pro and I am a huge fan of HDR. Its not the most accurate HDR but I love the way it looks and how saturated the colors are. Recently I turned off HDR to see how it used to look and I couldn't play for more than few minutes because everything looked so washed out. Again this is all personal preference but it should be considered when making a decision like this. I switched from PC to PS4 Pro but thats only because I didn't have a ton invested in PC. I miss the skyshard/lore addons but everything not even a little bit. This day and age those should be baked into the game already. Its not like anyone ever enjoys looking for skyshards manually. Really dumb there's not a toggle for that actually. Overall, I would not switch but thats me.

It depends what important to you is it graphics is it ur time investment is it friends. If you have all that on pc then go to pc if you have that on xb then stay on xb.

I will say I switch from pc to xb performance was better on pc graphics better but I had no real friends the community felt distant like I was playing a solo rpg. When I went to xb I had real life friends playing voice chat made the game feel more alive and I enjoyed myself much more.

Since you have to start from scratch on the PC anyway do it but keep your xbox account setup.
I play on both PS4 and PC, each has their pros and cons.
PS4 I have better PvP, communication and friends, PC better graphics and PvE.

um... not sure where you are going with this. my 'potato' pc has hdmi x2 and a couple other formats.

edit to add: the guy says he has a 1070, i'm pretty sure that has an hdmi port.

Using a television is, sadly, a trade off when using a console. Televisions are not made for gaming. Even the best HDR 4K set on the market is woefully inadequate to handle them.

Consoles limit the output resolution to coincide with many standard specifications TVs have. Sure, games with HDR will look great on a television, but they will not play well on it.

Gaming monitors are specifically designed to handle various framerate changes. Refresh rates are as small as they can get, and some will even synchronize with the GPU for maximum visual performance.

Thus, if you're looking for eye candy, PC is only the way to go.

Let me throw a curve ball. I play on PC using triple monitors, so I have an effective 5960x1080 screen. The peripheral vision afforded by the side monitors can help situation awareness, and even helps me notice more nodes when foraging for ores/timber/plants. That's not an option on console.

That is why I use a 40" PC 4K monitor on my PS4 not a TV, same one my PC uses as a matter of fact on same desk.
