Most Disappointing Cash Shop I've Ever Seen

Exchange it all for gems and I'm left with sub 100 gems, not even enough to buy a single item.
Items being rotated out constantly.
1 time exclusive *** items that will never be released again. The most I've ever seen sold by a company
Cant even purchase pre-order bonuses that were available previously, as a separate digital pack.
$40 for an expansion pack that I get for free with ESO plus, But I need to buy this pack to get these pre-order items
But I can't not have ESO Plus, even though I own all the expansion packs, because I need the Resource Bag.
Items that are sold completely destroy in-game immersion. Everyone is lit up like glow sticks and even their mounts are on fire like this is some how normal to see.

I resubscribed because I enjoy TES lore, and I figured maybe I can get some roleplaying out of the community.
But it sure as *** is impossible to do even that when I need to drop thousands of dollars to get a single mount.
What the hell happened to unlocking stuff via playing the actual game? How did such a great franchise get *** out into this disgusting excuse for a game?
How can players excuse this as a company trying to make money? Have you played other games? This isn't a company trying to make money.
This is extortion and playing on the addiction of gamblers.

I actually got the Sorrel Mount as a leveling up reward. i'm not sure if that is normal or if rewards are random.

You get the Sorrel Horse at level 10 as part of the new Level Up rewards

So you dont play many MMOs then? Wait until you play one where the material to upgrade weapons cost prem currency and only has X chance of upgrading and the higher the upgrade the less X becomes.


Your post basically says "buyers(gamblers) remorse". You wanted a radiant apex mount, you spent money thinking you would get one, you got nothing of value to you and dont even have enough to buy one of the gem mounts. So you rant on the forums because you didnt win.

The house never loses and for every 1 winner there are dozens, hundreds, maybe even thousands of losers. The losers pay for the winners winnings, the house always gets it cut first. Thats how gambling works.

maybe they were (planning on) RPing the emperor or a wealthy merchant. Now they will have to RP a Bosmer living in The Mittens because they gambled their Snugpod away.

lolz... The only thing SWTOR has to redeem itself is that you can trade items. Otherwise as amazing as the story is in that game, the F2P model is garbage and the crates trash.

Wow....yeah there are definitely worse cash shops out there.

ZoS at least keeps it to cosmetics and things you can actually earn in game.

There are quite a few games out there that are P2W because of their cash shops.

I love buying crates, but I go into knowing that it's not a guarantee so I don't ever get upset.

Its the nature of the marketplace these days. There's a reason I plan on ESO being my last MMO ever. The whole industry (including videogames in general) have disappointed me and I fully intend to find other sources of diversion when ESO croaks. I'm still having fun with the game now but I'm burned by the entire videogaming industry. They're trolling us with the kinds of nonsense you see from EA (and other games) nowadays.

I also don't really like ZOS marketing practices and how the whole Crown Store currently looks... But I think you're a little bit overreacting.

I advice you to read how cash shop looks in BDO for example, before you make a choice that ESO have the worst one.

You do not need any potions from crates or the store. Sure they provide some leg-up but you would be better of crafting them as it is free and they offer superior benefits.

I assume you never looked at Crate items at all because of your assumption. There are plenty of things to buy with 100 gems. It depends on what interests you.

Items often rotate or retire to make room for new things. They usually return in Crown Crates unfortunately. Also, why keep items in the store if they sell poorly?

The whole point of Pre-Order bonuses are that they are exclusive bonuses. They are usually cosmetic items anyways so does it really matter?

ESO+ does not give you access to expansions. You have to buy those separately Unless you mean DLC. For a monthly $15 to have access to that with other benefits, why complain?

ESO is an MMO so why does there need to be immersion? It would be bland and boring if everyone had drabby colored armor and the same mounts.

That has got to be the most asinine reason to have an ESO+ subscription - because you like the lore. I like the lore too but I subscribe when I can because I like to support the game and the benefits are very generous.

You can buy mounts for like $20. To say it costs thousands is absurd. You also get one for free when you hit Level 10.

You actually can unlock things from playing the game though... especially since you said you have ESO+...

You have ESO+ so you must care about the game to some degree. And by paying for it, you are supporting the game.

I believe you are trying to get the radiant apex mount, which has an average of 0.25% chance of pulling from crates. That is a fancy mount but definitely has no impact on gameplay whatsoever whether you have it or not.

From your post, it seems like you really wanted it. Which then, I don’t understand why you are complaining about how these mounts lit up and destroy immersion.

But don’t stop trying! Go slow and get a crate at a time. The next crate may give you that elusive radiant mount!! Make it your lucky day, today!
