Oh you totally should this year, it's good fun if you're doing some kind of daily quest anyway. Hugely lucrative, too! Sell your spare motif pages and make some bank. Sure it'll crash the market temporarily but I'm actually ok with that, I just want people to have nice things.

Yep they did last year. I dont typically keep all of my toons spec'ed for writs (skill points are the issue), but they all will be this weekend. Its worth the respec cost as this can actually be a lucrative week.

It did not crash the market last year. Merchant guild members bought up practically every cheap motif and banked them...

The market definitely dipped, and some things like Akaviri motif never really recovered. I used it as an opporunity to buy all the motifs I was missing, and it was definitely cheaper than it would have been the week before. If you have the room, best to hold any spares for a month or 2 before listing.

    @Oreyn_Bearclaw

The Gift Boxes even drop for doing L1 Writs, so you don't need to spend one single skill point to do these. Plus you get back the exact mats you need to use to the writs so your usage rate is pretty low

You don't even need to respec, you can just run the tier 1 crafting writs.

Akaviri will never recover because we can't spend AP at all the same gold sinks we use for gold. If we could use AP to buy luxury and achievement furniture then we could recover the AP market almost overnight.

hroughout the event, any daily or weekly quest you complete will earn you an Anniversary Gift Box (in addition to their regular rewards). These reward boxes contain crafting materials (ore, ingredients, runes, etc.) and a single rare crafting item (Nirncrux, style items, motif pages, etc.) Note: Gift Boxes cannot be earned by completing infinitely repeatable quests.
Does this daily quest are the normal based game quests and the daily for the event? Just making sure.

Rarer rewards include hard-to-get motif pages previously only available in Vvardenfell, the Horns of the Reach dungeons, and the Clockwork City.
So basically it only can be obtainable in these location, that means this places would be super duper crowded. Ah

Any daily quest. But as per the announcement, there will be a book near the chef that will list all the daily quests in the game. If you read that book, it will be accessible from your Eidetic Memory if you have it.

Quite the opposite, actually. OUTSIDE the event those are the only places were you can get those motif pages. During the event, they will have a chance of dropping from any of the jubilee boxes. Last year my guildies and I got several pages of Akaviri, for example, which can otherwise only be bought for AP.

Sure it dipped, the repricers couldn't cope with the sheer volume of new motif pages. However, once the supply was turned off, it corrected lickety split.

I run a mini crafting empire and have been working to motif perfection on over 20 toons. I follow the motif market like a Khajiit chasing a ball of yarn.

Akaviri is a seprate discussion. It started its decline after Homestead due to all the AP changes. It then hit a low two months later during the anniversary event. It then stabilized at about 50% of the previous high. Nothing to do with the event, though.

I still see an average of about 20k gold for the cheap pages and the 500k AP pages float around 100k.

Maybe. I'm not convinced, though. Pre-homestead 100k AP a night was ok for a decent player. Post-homestead, with the faction cycling, ~120k if you ride the map flip.

They also made the change to battlegrounds to make it decent AP.

All blue dailys, any blue daily I would think since last year any blue quest counted, also be sure to save them for tomorrow for wednesday they were retroactive the first day last year too, so if you wanted to have extra boxes the first day keep and hold onto as many dailys as you can and turn them in on wednesday instead

Hoping that it is not just worm in the boxes. I hope it is like last year but updated to include the motifs from this years dlc's. I will be a little surprised if they do either though. The even last year was reeeellllyyyy rewarding. My bet is that it they make it just worm so that it is basically like other events. You do a few day 1 to get the stuff that is offered and then forget about the event. Last year the reward was so good that I did 1,265 dailies. Basically, I did all that I could. Here is to hoping that it is that good again.

Nevermind, looks like you the boxes will be very similar to last year with lots of motifs including new ones. Yay!

I am currently worried for the future of ESO. Population seems like it is in free fall and the cancellation of the North America in-person gathering feels very much like pulling the plug. Kudos on fixing the in-game economy though. Clearly whatever gold shenanigans were happening the last couple years are fixed.

In other words, on Wednesday, you can turn in Tuesday's writ, then pick up Wednesday's writ and turn it in also. But if you turn in Monday's or Sunday's, or even older, writ on Wednesday, you may or may not get another writ for Wednesday. It depends on the turnaround of the cycle of writs. This may or may not apply to other dailies, but I don't have any good info on that.

This will work as long as it's Tuesday's daily that you're holding. If the dailies are any earlier, you may or may not get another on Wednesday.

Also, this is not an event-specific occurence, this is part of the regular game function, and the dailies should always do this. You can always turn in yesterday's daily, and then still be able to pick up a new one for today and turn it in, whether madness, dark dolmens, crafting, etc.

Honestly, the bigger issue for me is that I dont want to craft low level recipes and potions for those low level writs, which is why I only do max level writs. All of my 14 toons (even my level 4) are level 50 crafters across the board, so the plan today is to see how many I can spec for 6/6 max level writs. I obviously wont do my level 4, and I probably wont do my mageblade, because he is low on skill points and I actively play him. 12 toons is prob enough for me.

There is definitely something to that, but it's not quite the whole story. Rewind the clock a year, and the Akaviri motif was one of the more common ways that a PVPer could convert AP to gold. They cost a lot of AP, so they were pretty expensive and required wealthy buyers. Then the event flooded the market with these pushing their value fair below where they were at. Most savvy players used it as an opportunity to buy up the Akaviri motif at a lower price.

In other words, ZOS flooded the market (increase in supply) which lowered the price. Then most of the likely buyers gobbled it up and even though the supply (pvpers with AP to spare) returned to normal, the demand had been decreased due to the event (again, lowers prices). This situation really only corrects with time as newer players with enough gold to fuel demand enter the market (that either werent playing, or werent in a position to buy this time last year). Hence, the market never really recovered.
