I will never understand Crown Crate RNG...

So I'm sitting here tonight, finishing up my Questing time in an empty Cyrodiil to get Tamriel Hero on a character, and after seeing another player riding one of the Frostbane Mounts, I think, "UGH I'd love that Senche for my White Leopard Khajiit...". Ever since they were datamined I've had my eye on them, specifically the Senche cause I love big cats and the Wolf looks a tad too scruffy. But I'm thinking, there are like five of those Mounts, what if I spend the crowns and get one, but it's the Guar or Camel of all things? I only had 40ish Gems so the Crates was the only way to possibly get it. But there are horror stories of people dropping hundreds and not getting a single mount. But, whatever yeah? Nothing ventured.

Had 5,000 Crowns, didn't foresee spending them on anything else, so I bought 15 crates, sat down in my House and started opening them. Look what I got in my second crate.



I'm just not even gonna bother trying to understand anymore. I also got the Elk too.

That ( or the wolf ) is the only mount that I want. My free crates gave me a zombie skin instead.

Me either. See, I'm not a huge fan of the fancy mounts, preferring costumes and stuff like that. So what happens? I keep getting all these mounts that so many others really, realllllly want. I so wish there was a way to trade.

I had 37 crates. 0 mounts. A lot of pets, motifs and cosmetic stuff though. In the end I ended up with 500 gems and could buy the Frost Sabre Cat that I wanted but I could have spent the 80€ way better than this.

I so wish that too. My best friend loves bears. I *hate* bears. Guess which one of us got the bear? Ugh. I would be more than happy to trade off with someone else who actually wants the dead dragon memento or the freaking ZOMBIE skin of all things that has frick-all to do with dragons or snow or anything else that makes sense to go with this season. Ugh, UGH. I'm pretty sure the RNG just knows that all I ever want is mounts and is determined to deprive me of any that I want. I must have accidentally run over its dog or something.

Just so. I'm trying to think of a downside to being able to trade. Not sell, but trade. I've a stable full of rotting, flaming, glowing beasts that I just don't want. I see so many who do...I'd be happy to just give these critters to them.

This is precisely why the Crown Crate system is never going away.

All this post did was show how stupid this system is.

Congratulations would be in order, but I think about those who have spent a fair amount of Crowns and walked away disappointed.

I got the storm steed on my 21st crate, i was hoping for motifs. You always get the stuff you dont want/care about.

I really want the galvanic horse and/or the shadow senche, both super rare radiant mounts in the crates. Why they can't just make these stupid things obtainable with gems is beyond me.

Yep. Just not interested in the "fancy" mounts. So I got one of the below-epic Senches from the last round of free crates, and last night - opening my lv20 Leveling Rewards crate, I got a 5-card draw & the Flame Atronach bear.

All my characters continue to ride the basic black horse I've had since I started playing. /shrug

Really simple reason; if you can buy what you want, you *won't* buy more crates.

There were a lot of posts when the crates started live from people who said "I wanted the X mount, and didn't get it after 2/3/multiple packs of crates, BUT I did get enough gems to buy the mount I wanted. Now I don't need to buy more crated until they come up with something I really want. And I still have leftover gems, too." I wasn't really surprised to see mounts you can't buy with gems show up not too long after.

It's random, there's really not much to understand. I bought a few 15 packs when I played the game on PC and got jack, just random junk that i'll never use. When I bought a PS4 Pro and started playing here there was a crown sale so I bought a ton of Crowns just to stock up, anyway I ended up buying a 15 pack of the flame atronach crates and ended up getting a bunch of cool stuff AND the Guar mount (I don't really care for Guars but its still really cool). Since I ended up doing well with that pack I figured eh why not let me try my hand at the scalescaller crates when they come out and I bought a 15 pack. Ended up getting the Frost bear mount and the Elk and a bunch of other stuff that I traded for gems. Really happy with the 2 packs I bought as the mounts alone are worth it but I you will hate yourself if you spend the money and end up not getting them.

My personal opinion but I think the regular Frostbane Senche looks a lot better. :P

I like the Frost mounts because they seem more lore friendly and not as flashy as some of the others have been.

78 crates, 1 apex mount, no radiant, true story. Had to still buy like 3 legendary items myself because they did not drop and epic also.

My friend gets 3 free crates + buys 4 and gets a radiant apex horse and a few house items.. GG
