Need help setting up my generic gamepad

Hello folks, I've been trying for over a week to setup a 3rd party software (x360ce, also tried InputMapper) in order to play the game with a generic gamepad (Multilaser gamepad), could anyone show how it's done (which 3rd party software is better, where to place the software's files and so on)?

Any help is appreciated.

Is third party software needed?

No sarcasm intended, I only ask because all I did was plug in my controller and turn on gamepad mode in the game's settings.

I did that too and it didn't work, it's a generic gamepad (Multilaser brand, USB, in the shape of a PS2 gamepad)

@Yakidafi Yeah didn't work out, the gamepad is a Multilaser Dualshock for PC - JS030.
