DPS on one bar?

Is it possible to have a decent DPS on one bar? What would you recommend? I'm a Ps4 user.

I have Erbs Palsy and I can use bar switch but it can be difficult, slow and sometimes even painful. If there was a way to do decent damage for dungeons and trials using one bar, even primarily, then I'd love to know how.

I have a character slot free so feel free to suggest anything and everything!

Sure. Use 1-2 DPS skills, if you are stamina you can fill the rest with fighters guild skills and flawless dawnbreaker with the passives that increase your weapon damage. Otherwise it depends on your character, and you might not be able to do trials (well).

I use a heavy attack/dps skill weave that is effective with stamina since you hold down the attack button throughout the fight and just time in the dps skill. You can use the DPS skill halfway (or sooner) through the heavy attack, if you do it right you will see the green stamina return bubbles. Even though the heavy attack animation is cut short you still do full damage (according to the data I get returned at least). So you can go heavy attack / snipe, heavy attack / uppercut, etc. Works really well with a set that boosts heavy attacks, like Sunderflame. Put CP in heavy attack and direct damage boost if you can.

An example would be like my main, use 5+5+2 with dual wield and monster mask. Use flurry or biting jabs as your stamina cost skill, and just hold down heavy attack all the time. If you can do it physically, mix in power of the light, beast trap. Use the weapon ultimate or flawless dawnbreaker for constant extra weapon damage. Good sets when you do heavy attack all the time include sergeants mail, sunderflame, selene...

If you dont bar swap and dont get boosted by other players, maybe use rattlecage or dreugh king for constant major sorcery / brutality.

For magicka, something like just spamming a combination of shalks / flies / cliff racers with warden could allow you pretty good dps. Use betty netch and whatever you want for the 5th skill.

If you have asylum weapons, you can be able to do really good dps with a combo of something like

Heavy attack -> twin slashes -> heavy attack -> flurry -> heavy attack -> whirlwind -> heavy attack -> flurry spam; with lacerate and blade cloak running as much as possible and asylum whirlwind giving you extra time to several abilities. Maybe put on sheer venom if you have it since you use whirlwind. You´ll do good single target dps, good multi target dps, and youll never run out of stamina.

I would actually recommend a PC for people with physical limitations. The reason being that their are A LOT more options with hardware that can be customized to fit your needs. You can use a controller, a standard keyboard and mouse, a gaming mouse, gaming keyboards, gamepads. All in different shapes and sizes.

For example i use a ~$30 gaming mouse that has 2 left buttons and 12 thumb buttons. If you can move with WSAD, you can fit all other combat functions on the mouse. So it does offer a lot more flexibility than a console. Its not an option for everyone, but its worth mentioning as it offers a lot of flexibility.

For character, you should be able to do pretty good with a magsorc on a single bar with the right setup. Assuming 300CP+ and gold gear, you should be able to hit 15k-20k with just liquid lightning, shards, and normal attacks.

As another option, and i dont know how doable this is on console( but it works with controllers on PC), you could reassign one of your ability buttons to weapon swap. For example you could reassign the button for ability 5 to weapon swap. Then dont put an important ability there. Then , you would have 8 ability slots instead of 5.

Theres another post about this problem with the ps4 controller. It seems we can change which button switches to back bar. It can be changed in settings. Some people put R3 as weapon swap and sneak as left d pad button.

You can also make X weapon swap and R3 jump/roll dodge. Again, only sneak would be left d pad. And sneak isnt needed to play most content. That being said, if you cant hit left d pad then im assuming you dont want to use potions either since that button is only 1cm from the left dpad button you're trying to avoid.

Can't you switch weapon swap to your good hand? Put it on R3 where crouch normally is and put crouch on the pad.

Use heavily heavy attack build (Torugs + Elegant + Sorc or DK). Liquid + Blockade + Heavy attack = 20k dps.
    or
Use Magplar with Soulshine + War maiden + Grothdarr. Puncturing sweeps alone + set proc + burning light proc = 22k dps. But you will run out of magicka fast, so ele drain + rune + potions + heavy attack sometimes.

Hi, have you tried remapping the bar switch button? As an easier button could make it easier to switch? For example i remap to my d pad on xbox

So, the best suggestion I can give you is to roll a Pet Magsorc.

Using only 1 bar will net you 20k dps using 3 skils and light/heavy attacks. Using a Resto staff as your backbar will even let you play healer in most content (Except vet DLCs) and would let you play DPS/Heal just switching your bar.

Gear: 2x Ilambris (Medium shoulder - Divine, Heavy head - Infused with Tri stat enchant) 5x Necropotence (Chest Infused, everything else Divine), 3x Willpower Jewelry (Arcane). Enchants for all gear Magicka except on those noted above. For weapons, you can use vMA weapons if you have access to them, otherwise you can use any Shock staff for your front bar (Infused with Fire glyph) and any Resto for your Backbar.

    Skills:
Front: Liquid Lighting - Blockade - Empowered Ward - Volatile Familiar - Twilight Matriarch - Ultimate: Atro
Back: Combat Prayer - Mutagen - Healing Ward - Volatile Familiar - Twilight Matriarch - Ultimate: Resto

DPS: Keep Liquid, Blockade, Familiar AoE always up, use a Heavy Attack between each skill can also use light attacks to proc the enchant on each cool down and make ilambris proc.

Empowered Ward will provide you a 10 secs shield, that way you dont have to press that button that often and the matriarch will heal you.
If you want to heal, just switch the bar, you still have a Ward, HoTs, healing ult and oh *** heal with the Matriarch.

I really doubt it gets easier than this. I even tested this setup using only what I told you and got 20k DPS.

Is that with a standard weapon or vMA? Also, necro + julianos is a lot easier to get than a monster helmet. How do yo think that would work out?

I was using vMA Shock there. The difference would be like 1k dps less.

Ilambris is really easy to get (Crypt of Hearts I) and with transmute it doesnt even matter which trait you get. Ask 3 guildies to help and you have a really good chance of getting your Heavy head piece in just one run. For the shoulders, it would be better to use Medium (and use the undaunted passive for the free 6% hp/mag/stam) but another light piece would work.

For my magicka sorcerer, my rotation generally consists of (beginning with back bar) Liquid Lightning, (light attack if I remember), Elemental Blockade, switch to front back, alternate light attacks and Force Pulse, casting Crystal Frags whenever it procs; so in theory those skills could all be placed on a single bar. Only problem would be losing slots for other useful skills. (I typically use Hardened Ward and Mage's Wrath on the front bar, Power surge on the back bar, and the fifth slot on each bar is usually Inner Light or one of the daedric pets.)

If you can more easily handle switching bars if you only utilize three skills on each bar then Sweetare's build is even better (and in your case I would agree that Empowered Ward would be better for you due to not needing to cast it as often, even though for nearly anyone else Hardened Ward is usually recommended.)
This creature called a songbird. What a devious creation! This winged nuisance erodes sanity with its incessant chirping. What a brilliant form of torture!

Can you not swap the buttons around? Use R3 for weapon swap and d-pad for crouch?

If you're playing a NIghtblade you can get a lot of mileage out of one bar set-up with Drain Power, Path of Darkness plus 3 weapon abilities and the Assassination line Ulti. This can be set up for both mag and stam toons, as the Assaination ulti, Drain Power and Path of Darkness have mag and stam morphs.

This way you have one skill form each NB skill line so to take advantage of the passives, plus 3 slots that you can switch out with skills you like best. This won't be the most optimal dps, but once you level up all the skills and morphs and get used it, you can get through most PVE content with ease. Be sure to work in light and heavy attacks as is comfortable for you to do so to maximize your dps potential and manage your resources

If surviviability is an issue, try slotting a shield on the backbar and casting it before starting a fight, and when you need to recast your shield, do so while your weapon aoe and either Path or Drain are active to give you healing while you bar-swap. If that is too hard, you can sacrifice one of your weapon skills for a shield.

For mag, I'd recommend using a Destro and Elemental Blockade as one of your weapon ability. For stam, I'd recommend Bow and Endless hail (Volley).

I have one alt stamblade set-up like this--he has Endless hail, Acid Spray and Poison Injection as his thee weapon abilities, and a DW backbar. He can solo delve and public dungeon bosses with only needing to bar swap to cast his shield (Deadly cloak).
