Try this to steal those apples for Jester King's betrothed. Go behind the cart, behind the barrels (so opposite end of where the apples are) and crouch. It might seem too far to steal the apples but you can reach them. It might show you are being seen but if you proceed to steal them nobody actually notices you and you steal the apples successfully.
Enjoy leading a pig to a cat without being chased by guards!
